That was one test. It killed the GT500 at laguna seca along with the Z06 corvette. The Point is these cars are all king any more. there is very little overall difference in performance. Just buy the one you like the best and you'll be one of the king too no matter which one you get.

With the above data it sure makes this post a little miss-leading. LOL. Yes the Boss is impressive but I'd love to see a test in the real world same day same driver. Not a day when Ford is filming it's infomercial with it hot shoe race car driver in the car and using those times as the norm. Caught the Corvette in performance. a 2011 Z06 will destroy the boss in each and every way a car can be driven, maybe the Boss would win in fuel economy?

did you not read the other post??? with FORDS driver they claim SUB 1:39. THAT run, is NOT on the list.

What I see is 1:37 for the Z06 and 1:40 for the Boss, big differance. The bigger question is whether or not Chevy decides to go forward with a Z-28 and if it will knock the boss down a notch. Again I say the Z06 will destroy the Boss in each and every way on a track. For now the Boss is king of the Pony cars.

Anyway, heres an update of our 2013 SVT Cobra. Still messing around with the "Cobra" mesh for the lower grille, I used the grille from that red Terminator render I posted awhile ago to fill in the black space. I also started messing with the rear quarter window to bring them flush with the passenger side window and resting on the hips. The quarter window is still alittle rough but I will smooth it out later. I found a Cobra emblem on the net and stuck it in the grille, I tried to center it in the grille like the '03-'04 Terminators' but it looked funny... I will shrink the emblem some more and see what happens..

I see some uneven body work here and there that I will eventually straighten but not until a majority of the layers are on... I may also try a "SVT" mesh in the lower grille... anyway, need some feedback here, good or bad..

I wished that GM did a Z28 to make this battle alittle more interesting. It also kinda sucks that the ZL1 won't be out for another year... I don't know if you watched the video or not but that was 4 Mustangs racing each other. This should not be the case...

I would hope a $96,000 Corvette could out perform a $41,000 Mustang, 3 seconds on a road course is a long time... That could be another 5-10 grand to make up...

youre looking at the $95,000.00+ z06 (z07) carbon. Look a lil farther down the list, youll eventually see where the standard $74,000 z06 sits. yup, below the Boss. even if they only ran dead even or close, it would only be right to give the boss props for such an accomplishment in a pony car going up against a dedicated 2 seater that until now, was the benchmark in affordable ($74,000?!?!?) performance.

the rendering is looking great! i think the mesh should be a bit smaller but i like the body lines and front hood!

Can one theoretically build a Z06 with Z07 trim for about $86K?...

i believe so. its crazy that a corvette costing almost $100,000.00 is considered to beat a 41,000 mustang though. If GM can build a z28 that could compete and beat the mustang at the same price point, i can see how that would be stepping on Corvette owners toes since the Z28 would in turn would also be a better performer than the corvette and z06 and grand sport. but then again by the time a z28 ever comes out i think a new vette will be out and hopefully raise the bar again

Have there been testing and comparisons from other tracks, yet? I'm just as interested in that as I am this.

Ford didn't seem to worry about stepping on there top dog's toes at least for now.

It just make me feel sad for people that bought these very expensive cars only to get beat by a solid axle $45,000.00 dollar mustang with such a little motor. you could buy a boss mustang and a regular GT for a beater for the price of a Z06 just about.

Not that I know of... In my opinion, once the Z06 gets close to 100k, the ZR1 is a better deal even if it is about $30k more. Its a ZR1 to begin with and it has an LS9, a super secret TR6060 MH3 and all kinds of stuff a regular car doesn't need.. But if your gonna track a Corvette every weekend, I would still get a base Z06 if I absolutely had to have a Corvette... Screw the MRC crap, they are illegal to use in 99.9% of road racing circuits and you would have to replace them to compete.

Or I could just get a Boss 302 and not have to worry about any of that.

it also beat the C6 Gran Sport by 1.3 seconds and was 1.8 seconds behind the Z06 Carbon around Willow Springs - The Streets Of Willow
