LOL, i totally disagree...the GT500 isnt designed exclusivly for quarter mile times yet just happens to pull decent handling out of nowhere. The Boss is not a limited model, the Laguna Boss is but not the base model. And still nobody answered the whole "if the Boss pulls better numbers than the GT500 why buy a GT500?" question. Except for implying "i dont care what numbers a car pulls as long as it has rediculous horsepower"

Well the Boss has not yet beat the GT500's best time's in a straight line and the 2 have never gone head to head on road course. A faster track like VIR will favor the GT500 and close in the gap between the two more-so then on a short and slow track like the Streets of Willow where the Boss can really shine. They are two different car's. I don't even know why I need to explain this to a car guy on a forum but here I go. The GT500 makes massive amount of low end torque compared to the Boss which is way more prone to wheel spin then the high revving NA 5.0L and it the only reason why it seems the Boss is quicker. Its all in the driver and if you want a new GT500 to hook up all you to need to get the 20" G2's sizzling before you attempt to put down all of its 550hp or get a set of stickies and run low 11's vs the Boss's high 11's. I don't know what GM planned as far as final HP numbers for the ZL1 but this news will ensure they will not limit the power to the 550 hp range.

Personally I like all the "us versus them" thoughts no matter what brand is your favorite. Modern day muscle car wars and we as the people who like cars win. The rivalry and giving your friends who have the other brand a hard time is just part of the fun. I am not talking about bashing, but just having fun joking around. I am a GM guy but there is no denying the mustang is a great performing car.

GM called Ford's bluff, but Ford wasn't bluffing. Releasing early would have given Ford more time, releasing late would delay Ford's 600+ HP response in which GM would have no time to counter. GM picked the middle to get Ford to release said info... Good news though, this will not be the GT500, although the 500 may still be available in a final MY design (ala 1970). I never seen this coming....
The suspension is new, the rubber will be improved... weight will come down again... Not much a 560hp, 4155lb ZL1 can do... |

It will be tough for the gt 500 to top the boss LS time. God imagine the boss with a blower!

IL always has lower numbers.
i would of liked them to bring a professional to see the real difference, between the GT500 and Boss 302LS. |
