Simply amazing. I'm 17 years old and I want one very badly.
Isn't that the truth! Except i'm 22...

And i believe Pontiac may be alive with ONLY the Solstice and G8, or they will be rebadged. Yea Chevy Caprice!

Also, I tend to think there's an underground reputation of Buicks for being tanks even when GM was supposedly 's&&t'. Can owe that to the 3800, but seriously think of what GM car you see the most often on the road that's over 20 years old.

Or:

Tier 1 - Cadillac/Lincoln

Tier 2 - Buick/Mercury/Chrysler
<- Wat Tier

Tier 3 - Chevrolet/Ford/Dodge

Tier Truck: GMC/Jeep
<- Profitable Fanboy Tier

And the G8? Rebadge it as the Impala. Everyone wins (that was the original 2014 plan, right?). So we have:

GM: Spark, Cruze, Malibu, Impala8, Camaro, Equinox, Traverse, Silverado

Ford: Fiesta, Focus?, Fusion, Taurus, Mustang, Edge, ExplorerXVR, F150

Dodge: Wat, Caliber, Avenger, Charger, Challenger, Journey, DurangoXVR, Ram

HOLY CRAP!? It works.. edit adjusts for microcompacts.

GM has been trying to create a distinction between Caddy and Buick for the last few years. Caddy is becoming bolder, while Buick is getting classier. However, I can't figure out what the difference between a G5 and a Cobalt is, or G6 and Malibu, other than the G6 coupe is uglier and there is no hybrid on the Pontiac. Oh, and lets not forget about the upcomming G3 (aka Wave aka Aveo . . . waveo?). Pontiac no longer has a clear identity and too much overlap with Chevy on low end cars. Its the same problem that Saturn faces (sometimes with the same models)

I just did some google research, and there was speculation that Mercury is on the chopping block like many of GM's brands. Thought up my chart thing again:

Tier 1 - Cadillac/Lincoln/Chrysler

Tier 2 - Chevrolet/Ford/Dodge

Wat tier/Fanboy tier get's axed (no Buick, GMC, Pontiac, Jeep.) Now RD costs drop a bit and more can be offered to the Chevy+Caddy/Dodge+Chrysler/Ford+Lincoln through retooled 'echo friendly' factories under Gov help.

Wouldn't be surprised if this was what the Government made them do.. which I actually could live with.

Chevrolet/Ford/Dodge: Microcombact, Subcompact, Compact, Midsize, Sport Coupe, MXVR, XVR, Truck
- No real changes

Caddy/Lincoln/Chrysler: Sedan; MXVR, XVR
-All RWD/AWD. All DI4/6. TT Performance types?

Work now? Input?

I read somewhere a couple years ago, can't find it now, but it said that the Buick Regal and Century (combined) were the number 1 selling car(s) in America (possibly in their class) for like 2 or 3 years. And the fact that they're like the equivalent of a Caddy overseas means they won't be getting cut any time soon. I just wish they'd keep on Pontiac as a performance division.

Jeep isn't going anywhere, it is the big moneymaker for Chrysler.. that is why they are dropping the Durango and not the Cherokee...

Reason why I 'axed' them from the list was because with that I don't see how they could survive in this day and age according to what CAFE/gubment will be mandating. Now Dodge and Chrysler, they may be able to pull it off. The same goes for Caddy/Chevy and Lincoln/Ford.

They are keeping Buick because it is lighting up the Chinese market.

But...the big one that hit me in da face was...they are only keeping Chevy, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac...and pontiac is prolly gonna be officially pronounced dead by the end of the year. I love my pontiac...i would rather them keep pontiac over buick...I mean...A BUICK???...what did buick do for GM that was so crazy and kickass other than the GSX (aka buick gto)....Pontiac had the original muscle with the GTO , kept things rollin in public and hollywood with the trans am , the awesome G8...whatever...i'm prolly just speakin out of fanboyism for Chief Pontiac.

2012 IS THE END OF THE WORLD

If they get rid of Pontiac, will there still be G8's rolling around? And if they are, how cheap will they be?
