The funny part is that she is going to the same one as I went to...it's one of the more prestigious ones!

My brother's doing the same thing. Heck, most of my family on my dad's side went to the same university for either Pharmacy or Agriculture. Always get a laugh when I visit the frat house and see the composite with my dad on it, then two away see my uncle..and then 5-10 feet down see my brother and cousin in another.

I was the black sheep and went to a University in Michigan. Not THAT one (U of M Ann Arbor), but it was the only one reasonable enough with some A&P education clout.

Was just saying that it sounds like Canadian pre-uni schools seem like a better transitional concept than what we have in the states. I'd have loved to do it to get gen-ed requirements out of the way without paying full price tuition.

But that didn't matter much on my end, when studies moved to the airport costs dropped. However beer expenses went up due to profs going out for drinks with us to troubleshoot things off hours and get help. Wasn't good for policy, but when you're so far placed from main campus.. who gives a flying eff.

One funny thing though.. you learn how to deal with hangovers and air-rivet guns pretty well at that point.

They're Quebec only (not nationwide), but it does sound like a good system.

I don't think you have to worry. I love my alma mater but I crunch numbers for a living and odds are not in UTSA favor. I got Kansas taking it this year.
