ever seen someone you know on tv

have you ever seen someone you know on the TV (no not cops or on the news) but on a reg tv type show????

Was watching modern marvels last night about saws (the show is like 5yrs old) but I was watching it & saw my uncle & my cousin on it. I was going OMG so today I called him & told him he just chuckled one of the few times I called him or my aunt thats not dealing with a death in the family in the last few years.

Welp, as you see, I'm from NC. So the whole "not on the news" thing ruled us out because you know that all we make it on TV for is Meth Labs in daycares and UFO sightings.

I KID! I KID!

(Although there is some truth to the meth lab in a daycare! It happened recently in Morganton.)

I heard about that in Morganton on the news earlier... I guess when the education lotto doesn't make enough funds.... gotta turn to other things

. I think I've heard of a few high schools having a black lab or a golden lab as a mascot... but I believe this is the first meth lab mascot

I grew up in Los Angeles. From 4th to 6th grade, I went to a private school in Bel Aire called John Thomas Dye school. my best friend in 4th and 5th grade was Bob Newharts son. He got expelled. Don Rickles daughter also went there, and so both Newhart and Rickles would do a stand up routine for Christmas for the school. Clean humor, not Rickles normal stuff.

Other notable celebrities that went there were Lisa Marie Presley (she was 2 grades behind me), Carrie Hamilton (Carol Burnett's daughter). Hal Holbrook lived near us and I helped sandbag his house during flooding because a fire had happened that summer. He also tried to cheat off me while I was taking a ham radio test.

Jesse James (the car guy) stole my car stereo, wheels and tires and ran my 73 Dodge Charger SE (my first car) without oil because my car was in his shop getting a power steering bracket mounted on the 440 from another shop, and that other shop owner owed Jesse James money.

I've sailed with Warren Miller, and appeared in 2 of his sailing movies (no credits).

One of the best celebrity moments I ever had was in 1977, when my family was cruising up in British Columbia for a summer on a 51' Ketch. We anchored one night at the end of Princess Louisa Inlet at Princess Louisa Falls. There was one other boat there, a powerboat called Wild Goose. We were invited over for cocktails and dinner with the owner of the boat...John Wayne. Needless to say, having an evening with The Duke was very cool.

I was in a commercial for the Army/Navy game in 1995.

I saw my best friend's girlfriend on Jerry Springer in 1997.

When I'm at my parents house I see my high school best friend on commercials for his Chiropractic office.

I've also seen my wife's dad on commercials for the Honda dealership he works at in Johnston, RI

One of my Army friends was in Kickboxer 2

I went to high school with Robbie Takac of the Goo Goo Dolls. Back then he was a scrawny, stringy haired kid who was allways laughing about something. Allways a nice guy. He is the same today (except he's a little bit larger now

MANY years ago (~1976 or so) I was watching the news on the new-to-me/used color TV in bedroom I had just bought from the appliance store I worked at. They did a breaking story about some good samaritans that were members of a CB club that would go help stranded motorist. Some girls van had broken down and two of the guys had gone to help them. All of the cars were parked at the side of the interstate and and 18-wheeler driver fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into them. One of the CB club members was between the cars and he was crushed/legs severed. They showed him grimacing on the strecher about to be loaded into the ambulance and then added that he had died in-route to the hospital (identity withheld pending notification of relatives of course). Unfortunately I clearly recognized the victim as my cousin Teddy, so I guess they just informed one of his relatives.
I remember going out and telling my parents, somewhat in shock, "I just saw cousin Teddy on TV,,,,, he's dead." The really unfortunate thing was Teddy had severly injured one of his legs testing out a motorcycle, (he was on crutches at the time). He was to have 22 surguries to repair it in a period of about 2 years. He had 21 done and one to go and then gets his legs severed by a car bumper. Only the good die young.
