Haha. There's always a mark-up. But the advantage of Chromemoly isn't strength, its weight. Its far lighter than most steels.

Actually, 85 bucks is a pretty good price. A boxed style tunnel brace like that for the 5th gen is 90 bucks, and doesn't include a built in driveshaft loop. Driveshaft loops for the 5th gen are 130.

My BMR tunnel brace was around $90 and my driveshaft safety loop was $130 so you would be correct sir.

Haha. I have the ability to look up prices.

Sometimes.

if you already have the tunnel brace... its easy enough just to weld on a safety loop... probably take all of $5 and 5 minutes .

I would much rather spend the money and buy one from BMR.

Maybe for you. I don't enjoy doing it myself. Would rather buy a professionally made product and pay to have it installed. I installed my own grille and that was a major step forward for me because I don't have the patience to take crap apart. I like dropping my car off and picking it up once the work is done.

anything short of pulling an engine, I'll do myself.... if its something older, I'll do it all. Old stuff is so nice, I can slide between the engine and the fenders inside the hood on some stuff . I can barely fit my hand in my camaro's!

2000 Bonneville SE.

It's a land barge, has the 3.8L, 101k miles, $5k.

I think I'm done looking.

Watch it get sold in the next few days.

That's cool you do your own work, but it's never appealed to me.
