Spoke to a friend of mine who's an officer, he said he too scratches the tint so that if he pulled the car over again he would instantly know its the second offense. I asked about the legalities of damaging someones private property and he said illegal is illegal, could you sue the department for taking a bag of weed that you perceive as yours? If the glass gets scratched the city will pay for the repair. If its the second offense and you act like a jerk..... your car is towed and the only way you'll get it out of impound is to remove the tint on site or tow it out of there. Its unsafe for you and the officer, medical necessities do not rule over law.

Show me the stats that say its unsafe!!! SHOW ME!!!

Please SHOW me the stats that say,
x million people killed because of tinted window.
Show me the stats that say,
x million people involved in road accident BECAUSE of tinted windows.

Show me the stats that say,
x milion cops shot because of tinted windows.

I can show you stats of more accidents caused by people texting, or on their phone, or lighting up etc etc.

Lets go after the easy target, lets go for a nice looking vehicle, car well maintained, well to do person. Lets not take out the pollution infesting SOB, exhaust hanging off and runs on 4000 octane that is prolly killing our children!!

Like 5th_GEN_SS said, lets become sheep and allow BS to continue. Some of the stuf this cop was telling me was so completely BS I wanted to laugh!

I respect teh law, I took my tints of to comply. How about going after real criminal now officer!

Or....lets get the easy targets, cos then we'll feel much bigger!

Sorry had to rant!!!

(from the first thread on the subject.)

assuming that that is a legal reason to have the tints i think that you should go after the officer for harrasment and destruction of property. especially if you had the exemption to show him. Crooked cops are s sore spot for me at the moment as i am taking a speeding ticket to court because i was pulled over after being blocked by a semi truck and i was being passed in the outside lane. so....either the Semi truck should have gotten a commercial speeding ticket (several hundred dollars) or the cars in the outside lane should have gotten tickets for doing even faster than i was. But instead the Jerk is rude and writes the ticket up for faster than he told me i was going when he first talked to me. ....Dont Worry State of Washington you aren't going to get a penny as i AM contesting it and will get it thrown out.

Thing is, a doctors note is not a legal reason.

Even if the doctors note were reason enough to have tint. i highly doubt "limo tint" would be a valid option.

i did some research. you can have a doctor's exemption if you have glaucoma or another eye disease that makes eye sight hard or painfull in blright light. This exemption allows you to havea tint below the legal limit. other wise if the doctor's exemption didnt allow below the limit.....why have the doctor's exemption anyways....the officer was out of line and a dbag....

Is there a limit to how far "below the legal limit" you're allowed to go? Just curious since if you're having vision problems, the last thing you need is 5% limo tint.

I hope he has a heart attack and drops dead which may be impossible because this guy has NO heart.

ok...dude...stop trying to justify breaking the law, as miniscule as is might be in this case, but you are breaking the law. I really don't think this guy hates you, maybe he see the blatent disregard for authority because he has already cited you for the same offense, and is some what angry just the same as you. the first citation should have been you motivation to do something about the tint. the second citation was simply your fault because you didn't CHOOSE to remove it.

It all boils down to marijuana......legalize it don't legalize.....YOU DECIDE!!!!!!
