I took a look at the space combat vids.... it looks like it could be fun, but much to arcady for my taste. Like Captain Vlad said, needs to be more X-wing vs TIE fighter style

Of course I won't be entirely content until I can lift of the planet, fly up through the atmosphere and into space, plot a hyper jump and head off... that may be a ways off from happening though

You left out hypering into a system and diving into the atmosphere of planet #4 while some friends hold off the defensive fighters, lining up on the point target as you scream earthward, letting loose your ordnance as AA guns reach up for you, then jinxing like mad to avoid all the flak as your torpedoes take our the HQ or factory or what have you, then clawing for altitude, and, eventually, vacuum so you can aid your hard-pressed friends in gunning down the remaining defenders.

Well, if everybody is going Sith I suppose a bounty hunter would work fine for my theme as well...

P.S. - Though not as well as a Trooper would. Maybe I'll just have to start a C5 republic group.

So not to resurrect a thread from the dead, but I'll be interviewing the SWTOR Dev team at PAX next Friday and Saturday. Anything you want me to ask them???

When the (*#$^ is it releasing??!?!?!

Ask how much we'll be able to personalize our ships and companions. My main concern with the game right now is it seems if you're a smuggler, you get the smuggler ship, if you're a Jedi you get the Jedi ship etc... so it would appear that every class will have the exact same ship.

As for companions: Is everyone going to be stuck running around with companions that have the same names and stories, or will we have the option to name them etc? Seems kind of weird to have two guys running around with wookie's named Chewy (or whatever)...

Good call on the ships. I had forgotten about that one. I already had companions on there and plan to bring that up.
