I'm wondering what he used to cut it and if it damaged/scratched your window?

I agree with a6pk2go, that tint is unbelieveably dark.... the cop in question has it out for you and it would be best for you to walk the thin line for a while... that tinted glass draws attention

Don't take this the wrong way man but I'd write you up again and again and again. Takes 2 minutes to pull the tint off both front doors.

actually that'll make it harder because it'll most likely tear the tint in half, unless he can find a way to take it off in the same direction as the cut

Sorry, man....That's horrible luck. The tint is definitely too dark and I would get it off as soon as possible, but that being said....that cop is a jerk. Don't get me wrong....I believe in backing the badge and supporting our law enforcement officers, but ripping into someone's property like that before giving you the opportunity to fix it yourself is too far.

Might have seemed harsh, but with tint that dark he could have stood there and made you peel it all off on the spot. Tint that dark is enough for the officer to say that your car is unsafe for the road.

man i know how you feel. i was cruising home on a sunday(couple months ago) and i got pulled over for doing 68 in a 50 zone, and he also wrote me a ticket for my tint. so i got 2 tickets, totaled $230. I was mad cause this stretch of the highway turned into a 100 zone past where he pulled me over. so in other words i accelerated too early...j@ck@ss cop. then 8 days later i get pulled over by a different cop and was gonna write me another ticket. instead he made me rip off my tint right then and there, lights flashing behind me, ppl watching, effing old grey beard @ss cop sittin there with a smile on his face.... i've always disliked the police. i don't care who it offends, i haven't had a use for the cops ever. Every one i meet(on the side of the road) is always so high on a power trip it sickens me... whatever happened to warnings anyways? cops write tickets for anything these days.

My best freind is an Alabama State Trooper and has towed a vehicle for having the headlights covered too dark. The owner refused to peel the film off of the lights of his 300Z Nissan and Steve gave him a warning that he would have it towed if the driver didn't do it. The guy refused and so Steve had it towed.

What an idiot! All he had to do is peel it off. Steve said he wasn't authorized to peel it off himself so he told the driver to do it or it will be towed.

The guy was being beligerant in the first place so I wonder if we're getting the whole story. Not to say that we aren't but
