The main thing about high gas prices that sucks is how we get screwed at the grociery store too. Gas goes up, freight goes up, grocieries go up, my income stays the same but with decreased buying power.

This also decreases tax revenues at the Government levels as well: As a small business owner, we write off the mileage and fuel charges as a business expense right off the top - the more money out of pocket for me just adds up to less tax revenue for the FED and State government to take away. The shortsighted idiots in government cannot see that so they block us from getting our own oil to get us off the middle east's oil teat.

For me, I drive a 2005 Chevy Silverado 4x4 as my daily driver. I bought this in late 2004 when gasoline prices were about $1.65 per gallon average around here. The truck gets about 14.6 mpg. I drive about 480 miles per week to work and home. My wife drives about the same mileage but has a car that averages 22 mpg. So in 2004 we spent about $360 per month on gasoline. When fuel is averaging $3.30 per gallon, we are spending $360 per month more on fuel now than we did just a little over 6 years ago. So it is a big hit for us when fuel rises and thus our interest in purchasing a Camaro this summer. If fuel does hit the $5.00 rumored cost and I can get the Camaro and average 10 mpg better than the truck, I would save $265 per month on fuel alone. Gas prices affect me. |

I am glad my Camaro is my commuter car!
My 8mpg Tahoe stays at home! All you that live outside CA have great prices on fuel. For example I can get Arco @ 3.55/gal here in CA, then drive across the border to AZ or NV and the price drops 20-30 cents! That is for the same damn fuel that comes from the same damn refinery here in CA. All of our fuel is taxed more! BOHICA is damn right! Time to revolt on Sac and the idiots that run this state!

Those tards don't care, the idiots that continually re-elect them have no idea how much they are ruining their lives. They love to vote based on if there is an R or D instead of if that person is good for the state.
I lived in Nor Cal for most of my life and the few good politicians got ousted by crooks running smear campaigns. Google the Delta Smelt War and you'll find out lots about the tards I'm talking about.

Why do Americans cry about gas prices? Us Canadians pay basically 4 - 5.00/gallon as it is right now, and we are YOUR supplier for fuel? Most of you don't even know that?
As is, right now, we are paying twice as much as you for use of our own fuel, god I don't understand how the world works ./ rant over. |

True but if all this bad stuff keeps happening in the Mideast where we get our oil it could turn bad on us
