Quick Poll...

Ok, I already changed the ball uper ball joints, control arms, rotors and pads on our Jeep Liberty that our son drives.

Saved about 1200.00 instantly over the Chrysler dealership.

They want twice the price for their parts that suck.

The lower ball joints I didn't do because it is a recall item. Chrysler has to do them due to a Gov. mandated recall.

I took the Jeep to the dealership over two weeks ago and called them today and they still haven't got to it. In fact the guy told me he thought I had picked it up already.

Said the ball joints are on back order.

So I asked him if I could run down, buy the ball joints and they do it with the aftermarket ones that I WOULD BUY.

He said NO. I asked when the parts would be available, he said could be a week, could be a month, could be two months.

So my question is, considering they will NOT install the aftermarket parts if I take them to them. (Parts are in the parts store all day long)

Would you buy the parts and do it yourself? To hell with Chrysler.

Or wait for them to get the parts and let them do it? To hell with Chrysler.

My son wants the Jeep back and it's kind of a pain not having it for him. He aint' driving MY car. lol

Do it yourself ... Safety first, can't replace a kid if something goes wrong waiting on the dealer.

Since your son wants the jeep back I'd say to hell with Chrysler and do it myself. That or just take them to some other shop that would install them for you.

Well, I'd do it myself to save the money on the aftermarket.

I won't let my son drive it till they are done.

So your votes are still valid.

Stupid Chrysler.

I said do it yourself only because the jeep will not be driven until it's done. Otherwise I'd say drive it till the parts come in and then to hell with chrysler and make then do it.

I think it would be interesting to see your local news station go over to the dealership and asked them again how long will take to get the parts in. Are they providing you a SAFE loaner car to drive till the parts come in?
