so how dows one produce HDR photos?

like the title says, im interested in doing some HDR photos but dont really know how

you need photo editing software like Photoshop.

From what I understand, you take the same picture three times. One over-exposed slightly, one under-exposed slightly, and then layer them on top of each other.

First, you would need to take the exact same picture, but use different exposures (for the best results). Some cameras have the feature built in to take the same picture multiple times with different exposure levels. To adjust the exposure level in a camera, change the 'EV' to get brighter and darker pictures.

When you have the pictures, use a photo editing software, like bumblebeecamaro said, to combine the pictures into one. The program that I have is called Corel Paint Shop Pro. It doesn't have as many features as Photoshop, but it costs alot less (MSRP is around $100, but you can usually find it for $50-60).

Get mediachance dynamic photo Hdr. You'll do shots like these... It has a tutorial as well.

that is basicly it... here is some HDR of Chantilly when she was brand new with a few miles on the clock....
