I think we can send Petunia over to anybody's house and stick her in anyone's garage for a night if they misbehave on this forum..

Well I read somewhere that the intent is to force GM into chapter 11 bankruptcy to break the union and renege on legacy obligations. That makes sense to me, although if it is true, its rather low down.

I'm fairly certain that after spending a trillion to create new jobs, obama isn't going to balk at a few more billion to save GM jobs.

dude, the unions made their bed, now they have to lay in it.

What they and everyone else doesn't get is that we either go protectionist or we lower our income expectations, because the world doesn't need us as much as it used to, and we've been living off a trade deficit for decades now.

as far as i know, GM and Chrysler had to present a plan for becoming viable by sometime in march, and if they couldn't, then they would have to file chapter 11. that's what i've heard.

I'm not going to read through 4 pages of this either. No big deal here....we'll all still be getting our cars.

Alredy done. Wagoner working for $1. Other top execs 50% pay cuts. Rest of execs 10% cut.

[QUOTE=Number 3;285952]Mid February is a check in. GM must show progress to get one more payment. By the end of March GM must show There are a lot of people working very hard right now to make sure this is sucessful. Unfortunately 10,000 salarie employees will be paying the price next

Just read about the 10K salaried workers losing their job. That's a lot more people out of work. Sad.:(
