Because hurricanes are so much safer!
20 years living in California and I experienced 1 minor shake (just enough to make me lose my footing).

I do love Texas so far though! You can actually own guns and not feel like a criminal!

Call me weird but I like hurricanes. We have property in Florida so I spend my allllllllll summers there as a kid and every year we would get flooded in and it was so much fun. There was only 1 bridge out of the property and it was 50 mins to the closest town... So you an imagine. I'm just a weather buff I guess.

I'm planning on going to C5F, already put in my leave request

See i'm the opposite. While I don't mind rain/water... I HATE high winds. I can just picture myself getting blown away.

at least with a hurricane, you can project where and when it will hit. so if it's really bad, just move out of the way for a while. lol

Category 3 or less, you are good. unless you live in a straw house.

Exactly. And I love trying to make projections. Me and my dad always take bets to see whose closest to the landfall.

We just hurricane proofed our property, hurricane clips on the house, all trees cut down around the house, left the ones in the pasture, and pic up all flyable objects. Then its just waiting and watching... Its one of earths coolest wonders.

How far of a drive will it be for you guys?

It's 750 miles for me and if I am able to make it I'm thinking of making the drive by myself. I figure I can make better time solo rather than in a 75+ car convoy.
