HAHA obviously not 30% BF.
I go to LifeSigns for my yearly physical. They have some kind of thing that scans people from head to toe and can tell what's bone, what's muscle, organs, fat, etc. They claimed this thing was within .1% of that machine accuracy wise. In any case, as long as it's going the right direction....... I've got some pincers but no idea how to use them. They came with a tub of protein I bought once. |

Yes the discussion of body fat monitors have been brought up for this very reason, for the op bennefit these types of monitors are not at all accurate, bioelectrical resistance often show water as fat, muscle has high water content so usually people with larger muscle content shows as high fat levels.

For example, it's pretty well agreed that about 10% BF the abs start to show pretty well. I'm at 11.2 now and they're just starting to come through. Usually when this thing starts to read 10% you can start to see them real well. |

So, started tracking my food intake yesterday. I estimated my calorie, carb, protein, and fat intake to the best of my ability (chow hall food doesn't come with labels, but I used a calorie count website to at least get a decent estimate). From my calculations, looks like I only got in about 1450 calories or so which I know is too few (I'm 5'6", 140 lbs, 19% body fat). My goal is to increase muscle and hopefully lose a little bit of body fat while I am at it. Today I am trying to add more calories by having snacks which I don't normally do...I find it difficult to eat when I am not hungry. Good news is I also actually ate breakfast today which I never do either...I am taking hrpii and CFDs "lectures and tongue lashings" to heart and really trying to get this eating thing right!

I'm 37...doing Squadron PT in the mornings and P90X in the evenings F 6 days a week as long as my training schedule will allow it. My body fat measurement is very accurate as I had it measured using the Bod Pod. I ran two marathons last year but this year I wanna focus on building muscle although I do intend on running another marathon in Oct or Nov. OK...don't yell at me...I know I need more calories! Appreciate ya helping me figure out haw many....BTW sorry for typos trying to write on my blackberry and when I try to correct it deletes the whole post! Yikes! My thumbs are tired of writing this for the third time LoL
