No, its towards the large end of the midsize segment so it can shrink down a bit and still be a midsize car. The cruze is a large compact.

Whatever that is it is very obviously rear wheel drive or a front wheel drive car with rear wheel drive proportion and a longitudinal engine placement even beyond what Audi has done. Since there haven't even be any vague rumors of GM doing that latter I'm going with the former.

I'm guessing it's the replacement for the current Impala. Only time will tell if it will actually be called the Impala.
