After I heard the news cast about taco bell being sued I went out ordered 2 taco's with extra oat filler please.

Who cares what's in it, it tastes great and shouldn't hurt if you only eat fast food a couple times a month.

i think anyone who's hitting Tacobell at 2AM after drinking for four hours, can care less what is considered "beef"... just give me the two large pictured items on the sign for $5, Alex...

I would compare this whole subject to one of my favorite Mexican dishes........ chicken mole.

As a whole, it's not 100% chicken. There's other STUFF in it... and that's why I like it... and I wouldn't eat it if it was just chopped up chicken, lightly seasoned and cooked through - because that wouldn't be chicken mole.

Bad comparison.
It would be more like grinding up the chicken, trowing out 1/3 of it, mixing it with a bunch of random stuff to "enhance the flavor and texture", molding that unrecognizable lump to make it resemble chicken, and then cooking it with mole.

Will you like it?Maybe.
I wouldn't
I would rather have real meat or chicken though. But that's just me.

Well it sounds like you don't eat there in the first place. As far as I'm concerned, this whole thing has been about breaking down their recipe.

Is it how I cook it? Nope.

Do all places make their tacos the same? Nope.

Am I disappointed? I could care less.

But I wouldn't call their meat concoction "100% Pure Seasoned Ground Beef" - and neither do they. I'm assuming they use powdered oats, like oat meal. And if you add that to ground beef that is swimming in a runny seasoned sauce, it will thicken and enhance the texture very evenly.

It's the same way with the beans... did they just boil pintos and mash them? No... there's all kinds of other vegetables and ingredients in there.

And for those who are disappointed that it isn't purely seasoned ground beef..... just look at it. You know there's other stuff in it.

And if you're disgusted by this, then you should avoid restaurants all together... because you really don't know what other people are putting into your food. After all, it only takes one perverted male teenager to disgust you by ejaculating into your fish taco. I know I wouldn't want that.

I call that "random stuff" - precisely calculated amounts of ingredients that are included in the recipe.

I guess you're right. Filling meat with oats and sand will make it absorb the sauce more evenly.
People use the same tactic when preparing for floods.
They fill bags with sand to absorb some of the water.

So is SiO2. . . It's found in most fruits and vegetables along with nuts, etc. It's actually a huge part of a healthy diet. Now, don't get me wrong that doesn't mean taco bell meat is healthy LOL.
