I made one once too.... ran out of snow though.... only got one wall up (it was going to be a square igloo)..... it was a thick wall though. I was much smaller back then, I think I'd need a lot more snow now to make one that I'd fit in

It all depends on the direction of the wind, right? west=mild, east=very hot.

BTW, the first time you see it snow in the fall, it is nice. The lingering around for 4 months gets old quickly, though.

You're lucky. You're far enough south that it usually melts away within the week. Here in Wisconsin, our first inch from over 2 months ago is still on the bottom of the pack. And the frost heaves on some of the roads are really starting to get bad.
