FYI...Mustang Boss
One of the local dealerships here in DC has it priced at $48K. I love the specs on this car, but that is pretty steep. The Laguna Seca edition will be well into the 50s or 60s.

Man, that's treading pretty heavy on the GT500 line. I guess Ford wants to shoot themselves in the foot.

Did that price include any dealer markup?

There's going to be big mark up for a while. The name has been gone for 40 years. It will go down eventually like it did on the gt500.

I asked because I didn't know if the $48k included that. I'm curious about what the actual sticker price is without markup.

2012 Boss 302, Boss 302 Laguna Seca, Ford Racing's Boss 302S and Boss 302R
Boss 302 MSRP: $40,995 Options: Racaro seats and a Torsen differential:$1,995 Accessory Package:$475 Yellow Blaze Tri-Coat:$495 Boss 302 Laguna Seca MSRP: $47,990 Ford Racing Boss 302S(Spec) MSRP: $79,000 (Competition Off Road ONLY) Ford Racing Boss 302R MSRP: $129,000 (Competition Off Road ONLY) That is the complete Boss lineup with options this year. The chances of any of us actually even being offered the Boss on a dealer lot is slim to none... and we might as well forget about the 302LS... If I was a dealer, I would roll my Boss through a high roller auction and triple my money... Last month it looked like alot of SCCA guys were cutting in line with cash in hand to eliminate any average Joes from buying them. It also looks like FIA and NASA guys are following suit... ^ Dealer's are forced to sell cars at MSRP to certain customer's as ADM is not is allowed for Chase employee's and other people from other institutions. The Boss and Shelby arnt on the super cheap invoice X plan list but they can still get them for MSRP.
If you want it bad enough you can get one for msrp, even though I'm an average Joe I am pretty sure I could get one for msrp because I'm creative and persistent. |

The Boss 302 is a damn nice car. I was amazed at the price the grabber blue one-off version went for at Barrett-Jackson. Granted, it was a charity auction, but bidding interest was very high. The Boss 302 will be scarce for some time...

I was actually shopping for a Ford SVT Raptor truck, and the sales guy approached me about the Boss. I'm sure it was marked up big time. But they said $48K, and asked if I wanted to put down a $500 deposit on it. I passed for now.

Boss will be priced high for a while, but they'll come down before too long, same as the GT-500s did. A few people who can't really afford 'em, will be selling off their low mileage Boss cars within a couple of years...About the time gas is around $5+ a gallon. It'll be like the late '70s all over again; cheap 5-10 year old muscle cars, and more expensive, crappier gas. This time though, we'll be seeing fast new alternative muscle cars appear... Electrics.
How about 800-1000 foot-pounds of torque at zero rpm..? The motors are here, we're just waiting on better batteries.
