Oh I hate that show, to much teaser about whats in it[like a urgent news alert to stay tuned next, then 5 comercial breaks later, they tell you], then some how you got 30 people there to bid but only these 3-5 folks do any of it.

I smell a bit of a set up with that one, probably to get more folks out to buy up folks junk they left behind. Fill bins with empty boxes and auction it off weekly to the new drives of suckers looking to get rich.

I know around here, the storage owners loot the place and then put the rest on the curb.

Pawn Stars for sure. The things that come through the shop are awesome. But, i do feel bad for the sellers sometimes because they get low-balled so badly.

And sometimes I wonder about Chumlee...

Pawn Stars is buying and selling interesting items. I have never seen anyone do a loan on that show.

Hard Core Pawn is all about the drama. It's not about the stuff so much as it is about the wild people. Customers and employees are the stars of the show, not the items being spotlighted. People want thier stuff back and cause a scene or whatever. It is a bit "rougher" on the edge as compared to "Pawn Stars". The demographics are different so the show will appeal to a different group of viewers.

Pawn Stars FTW!!

-Mark.

California state law mandates that abandoned storage lockers be auctioned off. You can see them cutting the original locks off of the units before they open the doors. Granted some of it IS staged, like when "Hollywood" Barry brought a Midget in to to get a better look at the contents by looking underneath the legs of the people croweded around the front of the lockers. Or...when he brought in psychics to tell him if a locker was good or not...but who cares, just relax and enjoy the show.

I like Pawn Stars, BUT HCP is more of a realistic pawn shop (minus the camera drama). I mean really, people bringing in all these antiques to a pawn shop to get next to nothing of what it's really worth? Most should be going to an antique store or auction.

As for the storage shows, I've watched 2 of the 3 out there and enjoy those more than the pawn shows. They actually give you a value at the end of the show as to what the stuff was really worth. I really want to punch a couple of those guys on there though, always bidding up the other buyers just to make them lose money...

Pawn Stars by far...I love watching it because you learn so much about American history and see some seriously cool stuff. Plus the guys are hilarious and down to earth. One of my favorite shows for sure..
