I'd rather have the wi-fi tethering than the Data and voice simultaneously. I could care less about downloading while talking on my phone. Its alot more beneficial to be on the road with my laptop and not having a hot spot. With the Verizon iPhone you can create your own mobile hotspot.

I have Iphone4 with At&t and get great service. My brother has verizon and were we live my phone never drops calls ever. Phones have come a long way. Remember caring a small back pack on the high power lines to mark trouble trees thinking (man if this frigging phone could be just a little smaller. Now it's like a little computer how would of thought.

And here, it is the complete opposite. AT&T is crap for service and Verizon works everywhere.

Must just depend on the network in your specific location.

AT&T knows they have a crappy network, thats why they always talk about their speed. And Verizon knows their network is not as quick as AT&Ts so that why they always talk about how good there connection is.

People are going to switch over to Verizon because of their "better" service, and therefore flood it and reduce their service down to the likes of AT&T. I don't think Verizon is capable right now of handling a mass of people use it, espically with a phone like the iPhone.

Verizon already said that they are preparing for the iphone. They are beefing up the network for it.

To put money towards "4g" or to beef up a 3g network that will be pretty obsolete in a couple of months.

It absolutely depends on where you are. When I travel to California or New York my AT&T signal is horrible, but here at home it's much better. Verizon definitely has the strongest network out there, but it will be interesting to see how they handle the influx of new iPhones.

I don't think the new model will be LTE, as the network won't be complete for two years. I guess anything's possible, but I highly doubt it.

It's my understanding that the next iPhone will be CDMA and GSM (not LTE). This would make more sense based on Apple's philosophy. Right now they're going to have to sell two different models in their stores, but with the next generation they can stick to one device.

I read that Apple was going to keep it CDMA because they would have to reprogram the whole phone to be compatible with the LTE. I don't know what all that entails, but it sounds like Apple doesn't want to re-do the whole thing, and as you said, sell two different models.

I am with ATT and thought about switching due to the announcement today. The plan with Verizon is more than the plan with ATT, so think I am just going to upgrade in the summer to the new one then. I can do it now but have no reason to, my plan is unlimited calling, text, and data, everything is unlimited and think my bill is 124 with tax a month. Think I will stay with my crappy network LOL
