I always read the back of the box or carton. Like yogart. People buy LF or FF yogart and think its good for them but they dont notice that they often put tons of sugar in there to make it taste better. Some cereals may be low fat but you may not be getting the same nutrition as you might can get in another that has a few more calories.

And always if you see something the back of the box that looks weird, google it. You should know what you are adding to your body.
Yogurt is a good example. All dairy products have natural sugars in them but they add processed sugar to make them more tasteful, I always get nf greek yogurt then add a scoop of vanila protein powder, a handeful of blueberrys and if it's a meal a little bit of whole grain cereal, it makes for a quick and easy well balanced snack or mini meal.

Thankx for the suggestions from all those who contributed. Today was my first day without a diet soda.

Breakfast: Hot tea w/Splenda, pear, 1/2 low-fat blueberry muffin
Lunch: Chicken Noodle Soup
Snack: Banana
Dinner: 2 cups Iceberg, 6 baby carrots, Fatfree dressing and a sprinkle of sunflower seeds
Snack: Not sure, but I won't be having ice cream tonight. Maybe a 100 calorie snack pack.

Thankx for the recipes, they look very tasty - I need to go to the store and stock up on some "healthy" items. Glad to read that "some" carbs are necessary - I'm a carboholic. Started my food journal today too to track my progress and what I injest. Will definitely need a cheat day once a week too.

Keep the encouraging words coming trainers, I'm reading EVERY response on this thread.

[QUOTE=hrpiii;2702965]egg white my foot, eat the whole egg and make it 2-3 at least. That's like drinking half a protein drink, you would be missing a lot of good nutrients. try and drop the rice at dinner and go with a few veggies.

had my 5 egg whites for breakfast with toast and a glass of orange juice. i did leave some of the yoke with the eggs whites. and for lunch I had my chicken and white rice. dinner I just had a foot-long from subway no chips or coke. I will look into trying that brown rice or grained rice instead of the white rice. since Monday I started my diet at 190 and my goal is 170 hope I could keep up this year.

It's good too see everyone working towards your goals and making progress. One thing I have noticed is that you are all starving yourselves. I also know that when you jump on the scale it will show weight loss but in reality you should follow a good diet and exercise plan to reach your goals. The results won't be as fast at the beginning but believe me it is thr right and healthy way to do it. Honestly if you are loosing more than 1 or 2 pounds a week it is not fat you are loosing. A few posts up I mentioned ratios of carbs proteins and fat. Everyones body is different but in general these ratios are proven to work. Weight loss and muscle building is not guess work it is science. I guess the problem is and I say this because it was true for me at first most do not know what really are the right foods, amounts of food and ratios to eat. I have somewhere a few charts and examples that may help, I will dig them up and post them to help get everyone on the right track. I am not a professional trainer or nutritionist but there are those among us who are and I think if the chime in you will see this info is accurate. I hope I can be of help because this is an area I have done a lot of research in.

I'm 5'4" and weigh 128-130. For me to loose/maintain i have to eat 1500-1600 calories. So it may look like i'm not eating alot but I really am for me and my size. If I'm doing Insanity... I eat a little more since its a little more high intensity.
