I have to disagree, tanner has the personality of a bottle of tire slime, if he can't drift it he doesn't like it, there's a reason his previous shows have failed he's a terrible host.

And I personally am not a fan of Adam corolla, his podcast maybe popular but he can't maintain a tv show or radio show, his fan base is loyal but he's kinda the poor man's Howard stern you either like him or hate him.

For top gear US to do anything they need to evaluate what makes the original so great. The camera work is amazing, ours looks like a starving college student put it together on his Mac. The whole production value seems sub par. The other thing is the uk one has been around for awhile and actually changed hosts to get to this final line up. I don't see this current line up finding the chemistry needed to make this show popular.

It was comedy, is that lost on you? I suspect it is because you're so busy breathing hard in pure rage over this show that most things are lost on you.

Mitsubishi made the A6M "Zero", US codename "Zeke". They were used, as with most Japanese aircraft, as suicide weapons in the last year of the war.

He praised the car, made a joke that Americans would find funny (which I as a historian, did) and drove the wheels off of it.

non are real host but most Tanner reviews are watchable to say the least.
corolla isn't that bad and far better then ferrera or wood. top gear UK has unlimited funds, something the History channel can't mach, keeping that in mind top gear USA is very handicap visual wise. the main UK host has been there since day one, sadly this host don't have any of that charisma Jeremy Clarkson sometimes displayed in earlier years. real automotive journalism is one of the keys of the UK top gear, evolving as time pas to more Hilarius type of journalism. like i wrote before the Top gear host are and have been real automotive journalist all their lives.

me too, my dad drove 3 of those old rear drive V8 GM wagons a 79 Pontiac Bonneville Safari (with vinyl seats and NO A/C , my mom loved it she could just 'hose it out'), a 87 Chevy Caprice Classic, and a 84 Buick LeSabre Estate (the only one of the 3 with the rear facing seat!). If GM would build a rear drive V8 powered wagon (hell build it off of the same platform as that new Caprice cop car!), I know my dad would trade in his Chrysler Pacifica for it in a second!

Cept they did the “joke” on the anniversary of Pearl Harbor.

Should I expect to hear some Jewish BBQ jokes on Holocaust day then???

I agree. What bothers me about this version is I see an attitude of "We're too cool to like stuff" which prevents them from showing excitement or interest or emotion. I hope they drop the 'tudes and start having fun.

Yea. Tanner can drive but he looks like he is 12 and has ZERO personality. All his other shows sucked too. The other 2 hosts are good because they are more like the UK version. They know cars but are just above average in driving ability. Not unlike most of us on here. The show would be better without tanner.

#1 Problem with Top Gear USA was everyones super high expectations coming from Top Gear UK... if the UK one didn't exist I bet you all would love the show. It would be something new and exciting... what car guy doesn't enjoy car shows?

But it tries to copy too much, and it's just not "new and exciting." The whole time you watch you it you just have that "been there done that" feeling. It won't succeed until they start doing their own thing and can Rutledge... god damn he's annoying. Everytime he opens his mouth I just

I can't get into the US version either. Nothing seems to "click" in any of their shows, and they even make every car seem boring.

I love the UK version though.

I'd give advice on what I'd like to see on the US version, but I think I'll just wait for the Adam Carolla show to come out instead.

I have tried to give the show the benefit of the doubt, but when they started comparing cars on the effectiveness of 20 year old parking brakes, and the ability to hold unrealistic numbers of soft drinks, I tuned out.

I just watched Sunday's show last night, the hosts did better. The interview went better. The soft drink thing was funny, I don't think anyone intended that to be a serious criteria for comparing cars. It's sort of a car-guy inside joke considering the comments of the head of Fiat and the stuff the British show says about American cars and their cup-holders.

Im actually like that stuff and the Challenges, my problem was the Top Gear UKdid the same exact thing with the same exact texts with 3 morris cars and couple years or so ago. They need origional ideas and hosts with more character than a loaf of molded bread......

Just watched the last episode on the DVR, the used car salesmen show. I thought is was by far the most entertaining and had me genuinely laughing during some scenes.

I'm not giving up on these guys yet.
