Here's another healthier alternative for people with a sweet tooth like us!
Protein Pie, you can make all kinds of different versions of this.
The two we use most are Chocolate and Lemon Pie.
Ingredients:
*Store bought low sugar graham cracker crust
*The larger Box of sugar-free, fat-free Jello chocolate pudding (has to be the cook and serve kind, the instant won't mix with the protein properly.)
*2 heaping scoops of chocolate whey protein (you can actually use as much or little as you desire)
*Optional:Sugar free or Fat free cool whip
Directions:
1.Prepare pudding following directions on the box.
2. Take off heat and stir in Protein
3. Pour contents into Graham cracker crust
4. Put into refrigerator and let cool completely.
5. Once cool top with cool whip and enjoy

To make the lemon version of this pie just sub the sugar free fat free chocolate pudding with sugar free fat free lemon pudding and use Vanilla or flavorless protein instead of the chocolate protein. You can also add a small amount of lemon zest to the pie if a more sour flavor is desired.
There are a lot of variations of this recipe you can play with.

Welcome Sara. I know what effort, dedication and hard work it take to get to where you are at, and let me say your body shows every bit of that. I do hope you are competing, your back/lats and risers are quit impressive for your size and build.

Thanks for all the great recipes, they looks awesome! Please post and help anyone and everyone (and hubby). You know what works and what is just diet myths, and most importantly, you have real life experience in this area.

My plan is to do a slightly modified version of P90X 1-2 hours a day.
Some days will be more intense than others, depending if I go to the Gym that day or not.
I love the aggressive approach, but be careful with over-training. Symptoms to look for, excessive fatigue, restless sleep, hard to concentrate, and your weights will actually start going down. You will also have a huge impact on your immune system, making it easy to catch some stupid cold/flu bug.

But go for it!! Just give your body some good rest after going hard for a few days.

Oh I know. I used to be in great shape before my knee surgery and College.
I already have a cold, so I can't get any worse than this.

Sounds perfect and low on all "bad stuff" counts too!

Any particular brand of whey powder you recommend?

But I'm with you guys. If I can manage work and school full time I can at least get off my duff and stop being a frump

I gained 50lbs with my ex and have been miserable ever since, I've only managed to lose like 20 of that (which, God knows I'm probably gaining back daily!! ) so I'd like to get rid of the rest (and thensome!!).
It's a new day girlfriend! You can do it, just make it MATTER!

Over training....I've never known how that feels nor do I think I will ever know. But, I'm doing my part to get healthy, so that's what matters!

I'm joining the gym after work today instead of just using the treadmill at my apartment. Great Zumba, kickboxing, yoga, etc. classes and lots of support from my gals!

I can't start working out till Thursday...

so I've been eating light until I can.

Yesterday.

breakfast
eeg white trukey and cheese wrap.
24 ounce cup of coffee with stevia and some half and half

Lunch
6 crackers with a little PB

Dinner.
slice of pizza no crust couple bites of rice Drank water all day bout a 1/2 gallon

Today

Breakfast
Same as yesterday

Lunch
medium ceaser salad with chicken and a little cheese

Dinner... Not sure yet. Maybe a protien shake?

I'm having a problem with my schedule.
I teach Tuesday and Wed Nights and I have to get the kids on thursdays while my wife is in school.

So it's hard to workout either of those days....

Any ideas how to break up workouts to fit this three day gap. or is this one of those, get your ass up early and make it happen capt'n

Oh one more question.

Since I do want to put on some muscle... should I continue to eat light on days when I'm not lifting?

and only up the carbs, calories and protien on the days I lift???

is it better to lift on an empty stomach and then eat or not?

Thanks guys!

you are eating about like a high school cheerleader. Get some food in you man! How about 3 eggs, some wheat bread with that turkey. Lunch, OMG, EAT some FOOD! crackers and some PB... don't make me slap you. Eat some meat, protein or something. Have a protein shake for lunch at mim.

No, up the carbs and food all days based on what you posted. But no, your diet should be the same on all days. Really, on "rest" days, you want more calories to recover and feed that muscle growth.

I would like to join this also. I plan on dropping about 325lbs.

About 300 from the car and 25 for myself.
All I need to do is...P90X!!

Did it last year and lost 15lbs and 6% body fat in a month and a half, it was fantastic and it actually stayed away until I got married, then went on my honey moon and follwed it up with the holidays...no I am in the same slum I was at the beginning of last year.
