Since I run, I also have some pasta I can add in to get some carbs...but not too much. All of these things are at your finger tips throughout the week so throwing together a healthy, well-rounded meal is a cinch and the salads also make nice side dishes if you actually have time to prepare a meal, just omit the protein additions (assuming your meal has protein)! Hope you all find this helpful and good luck on achieving your health and fitness goals!! Here is a pic of what I do:
Thats great! Our local chinese restaurant has steamed veggies and chicken and you just season it yourself, sometimes I have to go that route when I forget my meals at home. Also a carton of eggwhites is a quick and easy way to get your protien in if you run out of chicken and fish! i always have a protien backup!

I am a week and a half into the P90X program and today I had to dig deep to "Bring It", but I did it!!! I heard a quote earlier today that helped keep me going --- "The difference between try and triumph is just a little umph!" Well, I was sure UMPHING through every last rep!! My body is gonna hate me tomorrow...But it will get over it!!

PS. SSMOKINHOT, my sister is a nutritionist and I showed her your post and she said that that is great what you're doing. Its easy and its complete and balanced. She said you should also look into walnuts and pecans which you could mix with blue/goat cheese.

I know its great. I'm usually on the Beachbody boards but its just not the same when its people you don't really know. Its so much better when its people you know that know you personally to hold you accountable.

I used to cook chicken breast on sunday and heat them up during the week with a bag of steam beggies and the 90 Uncle Bens brown rice. Super easy!
Also a great idea!!

Good to know what healthy "fast-food" options are out there when you are away from home! I have my office stocked with Healthy Choice soups and healthy snacks for when I don't have time to pack a lunch! I also keep plenty of bottled water on hand.

MMMMM!!! Yummy!! One of my favorite salads is mixed baby greens with cranberries and pecans with low-fat raspberry vinagrette! I also love putting fresh pears in there in place of the cranberries!! Another favorite is spinach and strawberry salad with slivered almonds and low-fat raspberry vinagrette! I will admit though that I am terrible at adding cheese to my salads...I always looked at cheese as an "unnecessary evil" LoL!! But I have learned how important dairy is to weight loss and I will eat a stick of string cheese as a snack! Next time I hit the grocery store, I'm gonna pick up some blue cheese/feta! Thanks for the tip!!

I will scan in my workout/diet plan when I get home tonight. i'd like to get some opinions on other foods to replace some of the meals on the list. Bonnie, I just can't eat the same thing every day. I can stick to a plan, bit need variety. doing the same thing would drive me NUTS! lol

I'm the same way... You are not alone. I also feel that if you dont mix it up that you are more likely to stray...

Great ideas everyone. Finding easy foods to have available and also finding some sort of variety is a huge challenge. Thanks for all the help and keep the ideas coming.

I can see your point there. But like you said, everyone is different. Everyone needs different meal plans and work outs. Just gotta find out what is best for you.

Like they say, variety is the spice of life!!

Same goes for workouts too...if you don't add some variety you will plateau or get bored....gotta constantly keep the body guessing what you are gonna do next!
