What it is: This isn't a Super Bowl party. It's the Super Bowl party. The men's mag will host its seventh annual bash Friday at The Ritz Ybor, transforming the space into a Cuban-themed nightclub. "We just feel every year we need to bring the pages of the magazine to life in a party," said editorial director James Kaminsky. That means celebs, sex appeal, alcohol and locker room-style merriment. Maxim takes a year to plan the event, and stars begin requesting tickets six months out. Some fly in just for the party and skip the football game.

Can you get in? "Sadly, no," Kaminsky said. Tickets are by invite only and they're all comped, so they're literally priceless. By the time Maxim covers all the celebs and advertising clients who want in, there's ne'er a ticket left for Joe Sixpack. This year's party will be even more exclusive; in light of the economy, Maxim is scaling back on quantity rather than quality. There will be about 1,000 people — half as many as last year. But you'll be able to browse the pics at maxim.com/parties.

Who you'll see: Expect a slew of athletes and Adrienne Bailon, Alyssa Milano, Brody Jenner, Chris Kirkpatrick, Christian Slater, Dane Cook, Dave Annable, Dennis Miller, Diddy, Fergie, Howie Dorough, Ian Ziering, Jermaine Dupri, Jerome Bettis, Joey Fatone, Maria Menounos, Mario Lopez, Matthew Rhys and many more. Last year's attendees included Larry David, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, the cast of Entourage and Super Bowl halftime performer Tom Petty. "Jamie Foxx usually comes by every year," added Tracy Kessler, the event's producer. We can confirm that deejays AM and Vice will be on the ones and twos.

What you'll see: The fanfare begins with a tunnel of 40 Samsung televisions, through which celebs will walk on their way to the red carpet. Inside, there's cabaret-style seating with all semi-circular couches facing the stage. A select few celebs, Maxim execs and guests will sit on stage near the deejay booth, but there's no VIP section. "Everyone at the party is a VIP," Kessler said. Hostesses in 1940s-style Cuban skirts and tops will pass out drinks, or folks can learn to mix their own mojitos at a muddle station. Live palm trees will make the place feel like an outdoor Cuban club.

What else? Instead of swag bags, guests can pick a souvenir from the "Maxim Bodega," which will include Blu-ray and MP3 players, Patron golf bags and other high-end loot.
