Sounds like your driver doesn't have the car to get the job done. Tweak the car a little, keep your driver calm and focused, and he should be able to win races. I think the game gives your driver some pretty even competition. Which means you actually have to coach him, and not start the race and change the channel to something else. lol

LOL! Actually, I'm not stuck and I'm proceeding through the game just fine. I just find the erratic, "no, you go first, my friend" driving style of my driver funny/annoying/frustrating even when I'm keeping him in The Zone. I just hope he eventually gets better as he gains experience so I can stop yelling "Why are you braking, you idiot!"

That's funny, too. Whenever I get to a point where I know the driver can coast through the rest of the race without my interaction, I do flip channels / play on the internet / etc. (like right now.) I wouldn't bother with B-Spec at at if I didn't want the prize cars. I find it incredibly boring compared to the full interaction of A-spec. A couple nights ago I literally fell asleep during a B-spec race.

Oh, completely agree, boring as hell! Just the other day I had a 10 lap race. On the 4th lap my guy had the race in the bag, probably a good 15 seconds ahead. So I decide to let my dog out. (I can see the TV from where I stand on the porch) So I'm waiting for my dog to do his business, and I'm looking in seeing that my driver still has the lead. I'm like, "this is easy".

Then I see the ahead timer go off....2 seconds with one lap to go!!!!!!!! F***! He is dragging ass! About this time my dog is in the middle of doing his business and I'm freaking out! By the time I got back inside to give him a command of MOVE YOUR ASS! it was too late. He pulled 3rd place. I'm screaming at the tv, "really?!:?!?! you slowed down that freaking much! IDIOT!"

That's my b-spec driver. You leave him for more than a minute, and he turns from hardcore racing driver to a damn Sunday driver.

Ouch - very frustrating after spending so much time! I'm a lot more conservative when I flip channels and leave at least 10 seconds per remaining lap before I zone out.

My driver's name is F.Lee (I was hoping for good karma, but... no.) I wish I could change it to the more fitting B.Luehair. All that is missing is a turn signal left flashing during the entire race.

Last night I got the Loony Tune Award for throwing tons of mods into a truck to win the Daytona race on the Amateur Sport Truck series. I didn't see any way around it when you can't make the driver draft. I had to re-run several races to recoup my money. :( Afterward I read some forums to see what others had done and the frustrated and familiar comments nearly had me in tears I was laughing so hard. But it did confirm experience makes "G.Ramps" a better driver. One person said he gave up when he was at Level 8 and couldn't place better than 6th. Later he came back at Level 15 and won easily with the same truck. There's hope yet!

Totally....once you start getting some killer rides, and a high B Spec level, you start the race and walk away from the TV.

The only trick is that once you hit the extreme levels of b spec, you're going to need multiple drivers to complete the 30 plus lap events!!!!

I backed up my save last night and started over as I was dropping a lot of money into cars that weren't winning races. Now I'm going off of a guide loosely while making my own tweaks and spending as little as possible so I can get some better cars sooner!

Red face Tuning help

Hey guys! I have a 2010 Cam on the game and I am having some probs with the suspension tuning. Anyone have any suggestions as to a good baseline setting. It's making 705 hp and it's fully moded minus the racing mods. Damn things all over the road and nothing I do seems to fix it. Can ya guys help a girl out????

If you can do the Seasonal Events that just came through those will get you between 20 and 30 much faster. Then once you do some stuff like the FormulaGT race you will be well on your way. I am at 26 now and all that stuff helped (haven't done FormulaGT yet but thats next).

You get access to the Sebastian Vettel Challenge at level 30. There you do timed laps in the car, if you get bronze, you get one X2010, Silver Two, and Gold Three! (one of them Carbon Fiber I think). Its REALLY hard.

I have my suspension pretty much bottomed out with lower values for bound and rebound. My sway bars are also pretty conservative; lower settings there, too. I'm using ABS at it lowest level because it's a little too difficult, at this point, even with the controller, to module the brakes (I'm running controllers only - no pedals/wheel). I'm starting to use the TCS, too, pretty light, just to control wheel spin. It's not, too bad, having no TCS, but I'm still trying to learn the feel of the cars and physics. It's different than FM3. I think I'm only getting around 1:30s, though, around Laguna Seca. I can't remember exactly, but that's my short tuning track, if you will. Once I unlock the 'Ring, I'll use that as my long tuning track. On FM3 I use both of those tracks to tune rear end ratios and even some camber settings. I think I'm about -1.5* on the front and about -1.0* on the rear on GT5 but I WAY prefer FM3's style of showing heat in the tires than I see in GT5 at this point.

I'm still tweaking though. What I really need to do is go through my guide and see how they say things should be tuned. I get snap oversteer if I'm not running a touch of TCS If I find anything in the guide, I'll post up. I REALLY like the ability to tune, but I'm not like this style at all...

I'm running a lot of what I am running on my SS on my ZR1. Again - I feel like I have a long ways to go, still. I'm using more ABS and TCS, too, though, because of the additional power and speed. Again - I have a ways to go, though, because I get a lot of snap oversteer in this car, too.

I LOVE tuning!!! I'm not feeling it's execution though. Maybe it's because I'm still at only Level 16, but I'm just not feeling excitement to play. I still have more fun playing the "other" game; I have more seat time, therefore, I feel more in-tune with it, so I hope that'll change soon.

JMVHO. Once I review my guide, I'll make some changes and see how things work out

This is how I set mine up for most of the courses, the only thing you'll need to adjust it the top speed depending on where you're running it at. This is a Race Modded ZR1.

The car simply DOMINATES with this set up.

Downforce: 35/53
Trans : 225 MPH
Initial torque: 10
Acc sens: 20
Brake sens: 10
Ride h: 5/5 (35/35 at Nordschleife)
Spring: 16.6/14.4
Damp ext 9/7
Damp comp: 9/7
Anti RB: 3/5
Camber: 2/1.5
Toe: 0/-0.30
Brakes: 5/7
