Toyota. I'd like to thank you. You are doing far more PR damage to yourself than any rival could hope to do alone. Evidence of that is the title quoted by a well-respected business journal. This thank you is just a reminder of how much I appreciate your screw-ups.

And while I've got your ear...just how exactly do you set a seatbelt on fire?

speaking of toyota & their moronic r&d, i saw a new plug-in prius on the road today. it had a regular license plate (general public, production car), yet right below that, there was a nice big line that read "plug-in hybrid research vehicle"

so there's another example of them selling "production model" cars to follow around with notepads

Sweet, I just printed this out to show to my moron friend who always says Toyotas are so dependable. Didn't they have another quite large recall quite recently?

It probably wasn't from toyota. They would've covered their prius in camo.

Wow a large full-line manufacturer had a recall, amazing. I've seen several articles recently about the loss of quality at Toyota over the past couple of years. They have grown too far too fast and they know it. Its one of the reason's they are scaling back and getting a new CEO.

The myth that Detroit's cars a crap and Japan's are bulletproof hasn't been true for years now. However, if Detroit's cars hadn't been crap for so long and Japan's so reliable the myth wouldn't perpetuate now would it?

I said something along the same lines in another thread. It just makes me sick that Americans are more willing to forgive mediocrity in Japanese products than they are in the very companies that built America's winning industrial products in WWII. I'm actually disgusted when I think about the fact that Toyota will probably get through this year with such horrible quality problems.

Recently saw this posted on 4chan. A guy at a canadian toyota dealership snapped these photos of a brand new 2009 Yaris RS. These are the images that stood out the most to me.. straight off the truck from the factory.

Seriously, Toyota. What the f**k? And you sold more vehicles than GM? Guess they could only do so via some serious cost cutting..

EDIT: And no, that's not glare you're seeing..

This is honestly just the beginning...toyota wanted to be the world's largest automaker, they're going to get the curse that goes along with the title.

Yea, i heard something about that too, but i don't know what it was.

This issue better not be swept under the rug... it best be plastered all over the news for weeks just as if it were any news happening to GM.
You notice how GM so much as picks their nose in public, and its on the news for weeks, and Toyota has a 1.4 million vehicle recall across 3 model years, and the Toyota one is quitely kept on the low...
