meh. guess i stand alone here but they're not that attractive. plus the regular CTS is all over the road, probably more common than the camaro in my area. yawn.

they start at 65 grand. for that kinda money i'd rather get a Z28 camaro when/if that comes out, you'd probably have some money left over.

if i had to choose a cadillac i'm buyin one of these..

Still I think the CTS-V is right priced and the competitors are over priced. I just wish some one could build a super high performance sedan and keep the weight under 3,800 lbs. The only car close is the M3 and it doesn't quite qualify in size and power.

And if someone would build it I wish I could afford it.

U had to throw a Vette in there huh??? Well yeah... a Vette.. specifically a GS and a Camaro SS would sway my love for the V. It would take that to get me to forsake my Caddy.

As for the competition being overpriced... Yeah.. but I think that ALL BMWs are overpriced.

If the Z28 gets the same specs as the CTS-V it will be as fast as a current Z06 due to less weight. It also makes me think that the 2012 V will get a boosted engine (especially with the M5 getting a boost) worth close to 600HP. Pretty easy since a simple pully swap yields U as much power/torque as a ZR1, and engine internals can take it. New Pully $600 worth 630 brake horsepower (BHP) and 630 lbs.-ft. of torque LINK
Here are a couple of charts from Cadillacforums
http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...es-forum-2009/
that give an indication of performance in relation to mods done and the cost factor of different mods along with expected power increases. It appears that the LSA responds extremely well to mods!

Modifications and Performance

Cost and Projected Power Gains

Elie

Next-gen Alpha-based CTS/CTS-V isn't due until 2014/2015ish.

But there is supposed to be an updated version of the current one for 2012 to make it more up-to-date sitting next to the ATS and XTS.. not to mention next generation 'Slade.

Cadillac will be missing one element that I wish it would address soon... A Sports Car or Super-Car that make the LF-A and R8 look like pathetic and slow. Much like it's "lower" sibling Chevy does with the ZR1. Call it Cien or simply.. "Cadillac C" (as in Roman numeral for 100), AWD, 700HP and $180-250K just for the sake of it. Halo cars don't and shouldn't come cheap in that segment and are worth every penny in terms of marketing.

Oh.. and tell Msgero I said EFF U.

While I'm still evaluating my options, my original plan was to switch from the truck to a CTS-V Coupe as a daily driver. The car itself is perfect for me as it is. However, my only request for what I'd love in a CTS-V... AWD!

The V Coupe is for me, since I won't do sedans.

My friend has a V. It's a GREAT car!

Of course it is. It's hard/impossible to outshift a computer. But, I still wouldn't buy it with an auto. It's the principle for me.

That, and driving an automatic is like sleeping behind the wheel to me. There's just no thought to it, and I may as well be driving a car simulator. I'm just not a fan of automatics. I have one in my truck (4L60E), and I love the truck, but the transmission element is... meh.

I really don't race these things anyway. Rarely does my car go above 2k-2.5k. I get the SS or the V for the GM LS V8, not because I *need* the power. But, I know that it is there, and that's what matters to me.
