I'm pretty sure, given the length of time that it's taken GM to get the Camaro in production, they were fully aware of what would be coming. I figure they just have their own priorities and timelines for what they want to do that is independent of anything that GM does.
I know ford has some tricks up their sleeve. im sure they will drop something for 2010 or 2011 that will then force GM to step up the bar and back and forth it will go until we get our 2300hp, flame throwing, 500mpg camaro.
