I'll keep my rear fake plate on as long as possible and accept the fact police are doing their job. I don't believe they are "fishing" but if so, I've got nothing to hide.

I didn't realize this thread would turn into a debate on police. That was not intended. I wasn't even venting since I was not mad.... I do understand the "really" and "maybe they'll get me for that next time" could be taken to be a negative slight against police.... but..... once again, not intended.

I can't believe I'm spending my hard earned money just so cops can go fishing! They can do that after they retire. /sarcasm

Really quite a lot of shit here.
Cops rarely pull people over just so they can say look at me. If they pull someone over because they made an illegal turn I expect them to arrest the individual for the 3-grams of crack in his car, not just give him a ticket for the traffic violation.
The OP's state has a goofy temp-tag location. He compounded it by putting that beautiful Longhorn plate in there which is what the cop likely focused in on.

I hope the Sooners show up for their bowl game(the last few times they were scheduled to play national championship games I don't know who they sent), they're representing the Big 12.

Would i say he was gunning for me? no, i'd say he was just a stickler for the rules, and while it sucks and i'd prob vent about it, id take my ticket and move on.

Since you both have the same car, you should settle this on the track!

Is it law in Cali to have both plates on no matter what? In Nevada you have to have a front plate unless you don't have somewhere to mount it. Clearly the easy way out for us is to just never attach the License plate bracket to the front and tell a cop you never got one if they ask. I hate the look of front license plates. they ruin the front of the car.

must have both plates in Cali. We had to sign a waiver at the dealer to not have them install the front plate holder.

It is the law in ca to have both front and rear plates. Many drivers ignore the law and do not mount the front plate. One reason is looks or to install some fashion plate that represents your sports team etc. The other reason is so photo radar or red light cameras have a more difficult time identifying you. No front plate gives any cop probable cause to stop you.

Let me make something perfectly clear to all our members.

I don't care if you have been beaten like Rodney King...

Camaro5 will not allow shots to be taken at Law Enforcement Period. Feel free to discuss your citation your warning and the reasons you were pulled over.

BUT the moment the officer becomes the issue or their approach to law enforcement is brought into question, or the ethics of his behavior is an issue, we will close or delete the thread and issue infractions.

If an officer has wronged you, Camaro5 is not the place to sort it out. Take him to court and then tell us your story.

Until then, take your medicine like a man/woman and leave the officers "intentions" out of it.

FWIW.

(alot of 5th gen Camaros look pretty clean/new because they have only been out for just over a year) "we" are supposed to magically see the front windshield of your car from behind? and about the being pulled over the next week for your front plate not being put on, makes it sound like "we" are going to pick on your because you drive a "nice car"/ Camaro. I kinda got that too from your original post when I read it the first time... borderline bashing at most from my perspective
Its a cool looking tag and all, but you made the choice to put it there and make it stand out and you know as well as I do that it doesn't belong there... new car or not. Unfortunately for you the tag stood out to the wrong person. "The nail that sticks out gets hammered" I really don't agree with the way your State decided to issue temp tags but hey everyone does it different. My state issues a full size thick paper/cardboard temp tag that can be run just like a license plate--to me it seems to look a little more official and is easier to enforce. Anyway, No harm no foul he stopped you and made sure you were legit, just make sure that when your tags come in, you make it legal and then there won't be a problem. Just to be honest... if you were in front of me on the street with that tag on the back--- I would have pulled you over too... guaranteed I would have said WTF? like I said though nothing but a temp tag or license plate is supposed to be there in my State.
California doesn't have temporary tags for the rear of the car. They have them for front windshield only
