Gas on its way to $5.00 gallon in 2012 according to some pundits. Time for new management in DC if this is allowed to happen. Because if it does, you can be guaranteed our economy will slide back into the sewer and we will be like Greece, Spain and Germany.

Gas price for France:
today 1.42 euros for 1 liter !!!
I'm afraid,but I will make the conversion: 1.42euros =1.86 $ for 1 liter ! so 1.86x3.785=7.04 !!!!
up to 7$/gallon in France !!!
That's why I choose the V6 !!!

Just heard this morning that fuel will probably hit the $5 per gal rate by 2012 :(

Maybe i better put my CAMARO savings toward a Volt??? Then again - maybe not

US gas prices have always been a fraction of what others pay. Then again gas prices in Valenzuela and the middle east they are dirt cheap.

When you bought your car you were not worried about gas mileage because the Camaro has never been known to get good gas mileage.

In Italy back in the mid 90's gas prices were around 8 dollars a gallon after the conversion. France and Germany was 5 to 6 dollars.

With the value of the dollar going down the toilet and the current administration not allowing the US to drill for oil while China and Brazil are allowed. Expect gas prices to continue to go up. This is being done on purpose to push people towards "green energy."

Gas goes up to much and as all have said will tank the economy. Europe is higher because of all their high taxes on everything to pay for socialism and all of the Gov't "freebies". They make more money also I believe but again taxed heavily to pay for everything. Or used to with the new found austerity .

Conversion rate aside, most Europeans make less money before taxes than Americans. with the current conversion rate, we're probably about the same. They are taxed very heavily in most countries as well.

Its true, the American economy only survives on cheap gas prices.
Not only does your tank price go up, groceries, post office, home heating oil, and everything else that is shipped by truck goes up.
People only have so much money in their wallet so they cut other luxuries out (movies, restaurants, malls) thus the economy tanks.

I know I'm repeating myself, but ignore the doomsday prediction of $5/gallon in 2012. It was made by the former head of Shell (a man with a vested interest in high oil prices). The cooler heads are saying 10 years. Here's the full CNN report.

Oh Jesus, I'd walk right out the door dancing naked in the street if I had to pay only 5 dollars a gallon here. I live in Austria, Europe - these days I pay about (...*letmecalculate*...) 6.5 dollars a gallon at the gas station. And on 1st of January the government will raise the fuel tax again for about 0,2 dollars/gallon, but I am still cheering: In Germany, France, Italy and so on the gas prices are about 20% more than here. If I had to pay the U.S. price for my fuel here, I had taken the V8 Camaro and not the V6 (by the way: Because of several environmental taxes, customs and import taxes my V6 LT1 cost me about 55000 dollars until registered, I could have bought two of those where you guys live).

Be happy with your gas prices, folks!

I read a report couple of days ago said we (in the US) in the next few years will reduce gas usage to 1969 levels. Reason given was cars will better milage and electric cars.

Still I believe if we REALLY want to see a difference. Get Tractor Trailers shifted from deseil to Natural Gas. Sure there is a drop on HP but most of the oil usage is from desiels. IMOP
