Mike Tiger, a senior in high school, was on a trail run with team members on Friday afternoon when he heard gunshots, and then he was tumbling to the ground.

"I wasn't sure at first if it was a bullet or a pellet or a branch," Tiger said.

Despite the area being clearly marked "no hunting," three hunters emerged, apologizing and saying they were shooting at a deer.
