Sometimes I wonder if they due this mid season to see how many people really like the show. because the ratings system is screwed up. 1 home = 50k? yea right. I've noticed I like shows that tend to have a cult following but don't last long. SG1 I just lucked out. SGU was no sg1 but it was just starting to develop. oh well. we'll see when the show starts back up for the last episodes if it's really cancelled.

Well, they killed Caprica which was becoming a great show. Killing SGU is no surprise.

I blame BSG. It set the bar too high. Anything attempting to approach it, including spinoffs, is doomed.

BSG was indeed an awesome show with great charcters and action. But they didn't even give SGU a chance. I mean the shows were just really getting good with alien encounters and getting past the whole character development stage. Maybe they were just running out of ideas for the show and just decided to end it afer 2 seasons. It damn well better not end like SGA and leave it open. I mean I know they're supposed to be making a movie from SGA but come on....it's been years since it ended we should have had it long ago.

Caprica sucked because it was billed as what happened in the colonies leading up to the Cylon War. Then you get a heavy Cylon type pilot episode followed by a season of mostly religious war with little to nothing to do with the Cylons. People wanted to see Cylons, not some drama about a mom and daughter who used to fight each other all the time, blah blah blah.

SGU failed because it failed to live up to the initial description of the show. An unprepared crew stranded aboard a ship, billions of light years from earth. What happens, they call home all the time with the stones. Then, you have a bad guy (Lucian Alliance) from the SG1 show show up and be the bad guys in a galaxy billions of light years away. Plus all the infighting and weekly who's-fracking-who crap and crazy black dude. At least there was a crazy white dude at one point, but they killed him off.

Jason Momoa - I'd like to try stargating his universe... I liked SGA best, SGU has been a dreary mess. I've watched it, but never been impressed.

it was cancelled yes but there is more than enough time for us to show interest to bring it back. the ratings system they use these days is a JOKE and should be totally scrapped. the show is just getting its legs and starting to get really good. at the very least they should have time to film a new ending to the show if it really is going to stay cancelled.... but they really should give it at least another season to really show if it is worthy or not.

dunno how the ratings system works these days...but I don't have cable or satalite tv. I just buy the new episode off of my Xbox every tuesday....do those viewings show up?

no idea. but they are just now slowly taking into account PVRs and things like that so maybe it will in the future not sure about right now. maybe someone else knows??

I would assume they'd have worked out a system for counting DVR/PVR views. It wouldn't be something exclusive to the show but more the whole industry with more 'on demand' programming.

I also remembered something funny; the original Stargate SG-1 was canceled around season 4-5 before Syfy picked it up for 5 more seasons in the end. However if someone/a group pulled a 'save SGU' campaign I'd point to Jericho for refrence on how it may look like it works only to go *kersplat*.

I'm a more recent fan of the shows. A friend gave me the complete SG-1 series last fall and I knocked it out with ease. SG-1 is by far the best and I'm really liking SGU, it was slow at first but has really picked up and I like the different way they're are portraying/growing the characters.

I just got Netflix this weekend and they have ALL of SGA on there so I'm starting to watch it. I've heard bad things but so far I'm liking it.

there is nothing "wrong" with Atlantis, is just sort of turns into the John Shepard show. he basically does everything and while the other main characters get lots of screen time it is his show really. some of the secondary characters are pretty good though, Zelenka for example.

as for SG-1 ya it was cancelled sort of and brought back to life many times over. Plus I don't know why syfy is cancelling SGU its not like it has a whole lot else to carry it....

There really aren't any good shows on any station now days....hence the reason I don't subscribe to cable/sat service. The only show I would watch regularly if I had cable would be like pawn stars, american restoration, american pickers type stuff and Leverage....thats another great show.

At least we have 10 episodes of SGU left but there will probably be a nice cliffhanger that will leave us hanging forever.

Bring back Atlantis, at least make the movie they promised to do. Stargate Extinction.

Justified was kind of neat. for a new show it wasn't bad. but ya we have 10 episodes left and they will re-do the last episode or 2 if they have time. likely they haven't even filmed them yet so we shouldn't get some crazy cliffhanger ending....
