What can/do you put in your trunk for traction on Snow ?
Sandbags ? What ? I am trying to find something that wont bang around in the trunk, like I won't put weights or dumbbells and in there... umm bags of soil or rock salt ? What do YOU use ?

Kitty litter is a good choice... if you get stuck you can throw some down for traction too.

The differential will help if one of the rear tires starts to slip but the other one doesn't. What kind of tires do you have? They all act a little different in the snow. But the deep treads on new tires will help as well.

I don’t remember in particular haha, I would go out and check but it’s like 10 degrees outside, they are 245/40/18 all season Dunlops in the rear if I remember correctly, the fronts are 225/50/18 all season Kumho tires.

Dunlop Signatures (I'm assuming) will do Amazing in the snow. I'm running them on the Cobalt right now, and I can go absolutely anywhere with these things. I've got to stay alert, but through slush, over ice, in deep snow...I am continually amazed at the control they provide.

Sand tubes. I put them in a big storage container in the back just in case one opens up. Envoy does fairly well in snow even without them.

Haha yeah, it's been a long time since I have driven a RWD car in snow/ice. I was spoiled by my old sh-awd Acura RL and a few other fwd cars that handled the snow very well, so I wasn't sure if tires or a Viscous-Type LSD would help in the snow that much |
