Less than 2 years unfortunately, I was an E3 Gunners mate in the U.S. Coast Guard. I was deployed to Iraq for Dessert Storm, or "Persian Gulf War" however you remember it. I was severely injured and medevacd, no pulse to be found on my body. Everyday I wake up grateful for the opportunity to follow in my Fathers and Grandfathers footsteps serving this great nation called the USA. I wish I could have done more. I initially signed up for 6 years and was also enlisted still in High school under the delayed entry program. Thank you for your service Brother!

All of mine are in a box in a storage building in Austin, TX. Maybe that's a good thing? Back then, we didn't have digital cameras. BTW, when was the last time you actually had a photo on paper? I can't even remember.

My parent's have a very similar pic of me and my dad from sometime late in 1974/1975.....

Ex Coast Guard here too. Machinist Mate 2nd class. I spent the Dessert Storm in Hawaii, a crew member of USCGC Kiska out of Hilo. Do you remember when you were in basic? I think I was there in Feb, March 1990. For some reason V-132 comes to mind.

I may have been there with you! My memory is shot though, I'd have to dig through boxed up stuff to find out! I think I was there dec 89 or jan - march?? I mean that's really close could be dead on Bro! If I find any records I'll let you know!

Awesome Bro! I've always loved this pic as I respect and love my Dad so much man, He has always treated me just the way he appears in the picture, as though I was the most important thing to him. I grew up feeling the same thing towards my parents all my life, I bought a house 2 blocks from my Father so I could be right by him and my mom to help them out, be close, have my kids near them all the time, I'm so blessed to have awesome parents!

Very great pic!! Wish I had some of me and my mom and dad when I was a kid...our house burnt to the ground when I was in 6th grade...I scavanged a couple pics from my Grandma's house when she passed, but I only have like 4 pics of me from when I was a kid to include the two I posted. :(
