Cool... No real reason... I watched that video and it made me sick...

I hate to see that happen to anyone...

Thanks for being cool about it.

Don't fret long because I have a feeling the role's will be reversed once the Z/28 auto comes out and is quicker then the GT500. GM will once again be on top, until the others fire back the next MY.

Ive got a feeling that the next generations of the Camaro and Mustang will answers all of our prayers and will be a world class contender's and deliver a total package like a GTR or AMG. I would love to see dual clutch transmissions, electronic differentials, and cutting edge traction control on the next gen's.

Sure the GT can hang with a M3 around a track but it takes a really good driver, maybe next gen a fat man can beat it while sipping a hot cup of coffee if you know what I mean. Our pony cars are just crude over powered coupe's that are lacking the total package and refinement that can catapult it into another segment. Sorry if I got a little off topic. Our cars are so close to being perfect and then us Americans can rub it in the imports nose's. I'm playing for team American not team Mustang.

If you turn a GT500 beyond 6400 rpm it is a matter of time before failure will occur. I have seen videos of Z06's chunking pistons out the exhaust on the dyno as well so I guess anything is possible.

I was at a local dyno shop not long ago and they had a red GT500 with the engine pulled out of it sitting on a lift. When I asked them about the car, they said it blew up on the dyno.
The guy supposedly didn't have the car tuned yet for the increased boost he was running.
Now he needs a new engine.

I hear ya... but... I kinda like the semi-unrefined part of the American muscle car...

Once the z28 hits the street then it is definitely game on... I don't see Chevy blowing the GT500 away by any stretch...

But it should be fun to watch...

Over revving a high hp GT500 is the easiest and most common way to destroy their modular 5.4L. They dont like to rev beyond 6,400 since they have a longer stroke at 4.165" then a ZZ 502 big block Chevy.
