Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

Nope, I didn't forget..
There is nothing slow about the fabled HEMI either and I'm not going to be going on a drag strip with it In any case if I was interested in a corvette, I could get a used one cheaper than a new Challenger however that is not what I am interested in..(The vette is a two seater and too small)

![]() the reason it costs more is because its a higher quality product with better equipment and refinement, not because GM is ripping people off.

This ought to drive some more folks into Chrysler showrooms...something they desperately need...But I fail to understand the titling...The Challenger didn't get any price cut. The whole brand did...
![]() Um...Says who? And you think Chryslers gonna make a dime on these deep-discounted cars? |

nope but i don't think GM is making much if anything off the camaro considering the engines you are getting plus the ground up design and engineering cost. i am pretty sure they needed to sell X number of units at the current prices to break even and i don't think that was a low number. i read that somewhere on here, don't know where

This does change the game for me...really thinking about this one as my current 2SS configuration will cost about $38k after tax/license etc. I could use an additional $6k off that price for a bad ass car.

Well, the titling is good in my opinion as the Challenger is one of Camaro's competitors and discounts have been there before for the rest of the vehicles excluding the Challenger so it wouldn't be newsworthy if it still excluded the Challenger. In other words the only reason this is big news is the fact that the Challenger is included in my opinion.. Also, The Dodge Sprinter work van is the only vehicle specifically excluded from the program. Quote:
The V6 camaro cannot beat the Challenger RT line.. We really do need to sort this out and figure out exactly what the cheapest price on the Challenger we can get for each model RT and SRT8 and then compare the pricing and specs to what GM is currently offering which we already know in detail.. This information will be useful to all of us interested in American Muscle..

For the most part, The Camaro's chassis' development costs are spread across many vehicles based on the same platform. And similar to the VZ chassis underpinnig the GTO, Zeta was designed to be profitable in relatively low production numbers. And every vehicle has that "break even" point, even the Challenger. It take a little while to make up a couple hundred million bucks in development costs.

i agree it would be good information to know. However, the 300hp 3700lb Camaro should be able to keep up with the 370hp 4100lb Challenger. pretty sad for the 10k price difference.
