The GT-R does a damn good job of being it's own car and making sure when you see it, you know it. |

Reasonable, respectful, mature comments about the GT-R.
This car is a marvel of technology, and Nissan has already removed the launch control. I want every fun car. If I were rich, I'd have a warehouse full, and you can bet a GT-R would be in there. And Porsche's, Ferrari's, crap loads of Pontiac's, Toyota's, Nissan's, Oldsmobiles, Lamborghini's, BMW's, Dodge, Ford, AMC, etc, etc., etc. Since I'm not rich, and must choose one or two fun cars, I choose Corvette first, and Camaro second. Due to my old busted back, the Corvette is no longer an option. Plus I never fit quite right in the Vette. Camaro is much roomier, and is my first choice for my next vehicle purchase.

The old ZR1's were the same way. Did the SS or Z28 or ZL1 camaro not look like a camaro? I don't see how your argument holds any water.

Arguments aren't designed to hold water.
I was simply saying that if one was driving a Ferarri, it's distinctive, you know it. When you see a GT-R you know it. If one were a see a ZR1 you might not take it for a ZR1 right off the bat. For as awesome as it is, it should be different.Just an opinion. It's nothing that can be argued. lol |

The GTR is overhyped. Yes its fast, very fast. It has better performance than any car under $80 000. But while much has been made about GTR vs Z06, the elephant in the room has been the Viper which will outperform both (and try to kill you in the process). Then there is the transmission/launch control issue, and the claims of fudging the 'ring time, and the imediate price increase, the lack of improvement for the V-spec, etc. Impressive? Yes. Godzilla? Maybe, but there is still King Kong and others that put up an equal fight.
