Show me one fun exciting car toyota builds today.
There isn't, they only build people movers that's it. There is no longer any fun exciting car built by toyota. Do they even make the Celica anymore forget the dead and buried Supra (which was a great car in it's own right).

Screw toyota and their "we are made in America, so we are just like you" attitude. They wrap themselves in the American flag any chance they get. They ARE NOT AN AMERICAN COMPANY. I HATE TOYOTA. Besides, when was the last toyota that had any style? They all look like they were designed by someone at Whirlpool. Freakin' Japanese crap. Wait...what was that sound??? Oh, just another Tacoma frame folding in half from RUST. Nice quality toyota. BE AMERICAN, BUY AMERICAN. GO GM.:flag2:

Folding Tacoma frame... gives a new meaning to the "Taco" nickname now doesn't it?

Well, I'll give ya that. Their cars are some of the most boring made. However they do offer an intercooled supercharger with proper factory ECU tune and flash to go with it for their V6 Tacoma taking it to about 400HP. To me that's pretty cool, while retaining all factory warranty and only costing about $4K dealer installed.

I had two Tacomas (1997 and 1999 4x4s) and never had a single problem with either. The 1997 was HEAVILY modified for off road and used as such to boot. However, like someone else said, the 2002 4Runner I have now is the latest model Toyota I've owned. I've seen some rumblings on the 4Runner forums about problems with the frame on Tacos as well as something about throttle issues too. However in both cases Toyota extended the warranties years beyond standard with unlimited mileage and fixes them for free.

If we're gonna bash any manufacturer let's throw out all the facts rather than just the ones that support our side of the argument.

My brother owns a 2005 Sienna. Here are the problems that he has: New tires HAVE to be installed every 18,000 miles. Common with AWD vans from Toyota. Two radiators, five sets of shocks, door hinges that are doomed to failure one day soon (bad hinge design allows doors to actually break free of stops and slam on a persons hand or arm - repair is extremely expensive) He gets crappy service from the dealers on a $44,000 van as they treat him like a jerk for bringing him the car. The van only has 65,000 miles on it.

Now, I must say, the way that Toyota handled the frame issue on the Tacoma's is an example of VERY smart corporate thinking and should be the model for all automakers to follow. Buying the trucks back at 1.5 times blue book and crushing them (no matter the condition) was brilliant. Every automaker should learn from this example.

Now, the way Toyota treats it's employees in the factories is yet another story, is well documented on the net. For the truth about defects in Toyotas, read this article of the recalls and issues written in February of 2007: http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/toy...-and-memogate/

I will never own a Japanese car again, and find them to be souless modes of point a to point b, which is not my cup of tea when it comes to driving. As for your 4runner not needing ANY service for 75,000 miles, does that not scare you that you are driving what is supposed to be a heavy SUV and you have not worn wear parts like tires and brakes? It tells me the truck is way too light for it's intended purpose, or the brakes and tires are made of some exotic materials that fight wear at all costs.

I know this is a big deal in Toyota's eye's but to me, no big deal. It’s like the old saying goes…….”Quality not Quantity”……………..wait a minute…………..

uuh... isn't that the way it's supposed to be?! would you rather have to bring your car to the shop every 10.000 miles?

i'm not favoring toyota here, but your point doesn't make any sense at all IMO.

That's what he gets for buying a minivan? Seriously, I'd be pissed too and would have that thing on the books for Lemon Law.

To get to work each day, that's all I need....cheap from A to B. I save my 4Runner for a weekend warrior at this point, soon to add a Camaro 2SS/RS to that line up. As for my being scared....not at all. I'm VERY good with mechanics and check things on a regular basis. The 4Runner just flat works, although since adding the supercharger the tires are about to go. The 4Runner has a gross weight of 4070, what's the V8 Camaro gonna weigh...3800?.

Toyota has been gunning for the #1 spot for years. That was their goal. So when I first heard that they finally became numero uno, the first thing that came to mind was 'King Nothing'
