I'm not too worried about it. I wasn't having the best of mornings and this guy posted a(nother ZOMG THE STRIPES SUCK!) thread about how the dealers wouldn't be able to install the (ZOMG THE) stripes (SUCK!) properly because they wouldn't have properly trained employees. And about how GM doesn't care that (ZOMG) the stripes are going to suck. About how they are just going to wash their hands of it.

Just hit a bad nerve on a day when I didn't have many good nerves left.

I know what you are saying, but there was a thread a while back where we attacked a noob for asking the same question that has been asked 100000000 times before. One of the mods kind of got a little upset at the bashing and they made a good point. Everyone is here because we are a source of great information. They have lots of questions that they can't get answered from their dealer because, well because their dealer is an idiot. So they are relying on us to help them out. That's why I came to this site the first time too. So, we (the post whores) should try to be patient. Answer the questions, but direct them to where they can get the information. And BTW, it's not like the search on here is the easiest to use especially for the Google generation.

ok i have a dilemma everytime some one posts on one of these threads that i posted on it sends me an email-i got a blackberry-so im constantly get emails day and nite(yes pete this is more annoying then your old avatar) i tryed editing options but i still get these dammed emails errrrrrrrrrr

I had no intention of attacking him. When I first posted in that thread, all I said was that GM was working on offering more stripe packages from the factory, not washing their hands of it - then he started bashing my because I drive a Hyundai (which, incidentally, I bought used from a chevy dealership, so in the end I was enabling chevy to sell more cars by buying a car that came in on trade). Things just kinda spiraled down hill a bit from there, and Tran modsmacked the thread.

Xanthos, my comments weren't directed at you. I was just making some general statements. I don't even think that was the thread I was talking about. I am just making a general statement. All of us whores should be flattered that noobs ask questions and we have the answers. We all just need to exhibit a little more patience when possible.

Why do you always have to be so damn practical, Pete? It's like listening to my father (that's a big compliment).
I got upset too recently with people intolerant of others voicing their opinion of how they would like the rear stripes to be done. No one was being a Copo or anything, so if you don't like it, don't read it. Like you say though we all need to be more understanding and patient from time to time.

New avatar - YES! But, just between you and me, I don't know if I'd let gtahvit choose it.

The settings are applied to any new thread. So all the threads that you had subscribed to for instant alerts will still give instant alerts.

You have 2 options. You can either manually change your preferences for each thread, or wait for them to die down. Most threads get quiet after a few days. I changed over to daily notification a few weeks ago and I still get ~10-15 emails a day about an old thread. Then 20-30 every night with daily updates.

Cmon you mean to tell me that we aren't obligated to help the new members out. Please. Everyone gets a chance. The first couple times, find the thread or answer their question and remind them to search next time. After that just don't reply if you don't want to deal with them. Or PM one of us and we'll try and hook em up. But don't complain. We want new members guys. We want this site to be a huge contributor to the camaro community.

So, take Pete's advice and be patient.
