...Chevy Commodore or Pontiac Commodore GT off lease.

Can't drive the T/A every day..

Getting a GXP over the GT? Psh.. yeah, I don't have MSRP for a 50K mile car.

I would REALLY love to see it, but will it sell? (I hate saying that) or, in other words... was the G8 GT profitable?

My first thought is... you're not serious, but I know what it's like with 2 FAST growing kids to kart around.

Dunno. I see them all the time, though. I'd say so just from the amount on the road in 2 MY time..

Tag.. you could also just buy a used off lease GT and keep the THR. Hmm?

It should sell better than G8. More recognizable nameplate, plus it won't be introduced right when all hell breaks loose with the economy.

If you've seen the side of a G8, that's pretty much it. Unless we're getting the VF Commodore, Holden can't really do much for us besides tweak the front end of the VE Series II.

They already make it. In the UAE it's branded under the Lumina badge and even has an SS version.

Yup. The good thing about the Lumina is that if we do get its front end, Chevrolet to Holden conversions should be pretty easy with that grille.

Not to mention the ME export Lumina is already LHD, they'd just have to add airbag components from the G8 line and get the car back to NHTSA for a retest and all that gobbledy-gook.

Granted I think they should slap Impala on this sucker over Lumina. Gone are the days of the W body FWD..

Bring it on home oh cousin of the Caprice. Lord Vader, your car has returned.

The EpII-based Impala is already in development, so unless they badge that differently, this car will have to be called something different.

I personally don't see a problem with sticking with the Commodore nameplate, although Impala would be more recognizable.
