I guess I don't see any problem with either one of those comercials. Because the guy hugged a polar bear?? I don't see anyone complaining about the coke polar bears that have been on tv for years. People are too quick to blame tv for all of their problems.

Also, I love the Camaro. I wouldn't buy a Leaf myself, but I have considered getting the Tesla.

There is NOTHING wrong with cars eventually going electric. It going to happen. I love my petroleum powered car, and as long as I can buy gas, I'll continue to drive one.

However, batteries are getting better. Electric cars ARE faster. They generally don't provide the visceral rush that a V8 (or V10/V12) provides as far as noise and raw excitement.

I thought I read somewhere that one of the main elements they use to make batteries was becoming pretty scarce. About the only place left with any was Afghanistan er something like that.

electric cars don't pollute, but their total carbon foot print isn't all that small because you have to trace it back to the power generation which still burns alot of coal.

All manufacturing causes some sort of impact on the environment. I am hardly an environmentalist.

In fact, I'm pro-nuclear and think we should be building plants as it's the cleanest power around. With enough plants, charging electric cars wouldn't be a problem.

I'm not one to say we should only go electric...drive what you will. I drive a Camaro...I'm hardly concerned about gas milage, lol.

I think my point is that we shouldn't poo-poo alternative types of transportation either. I love the idea of drag racing with an electric car. But I also love drag racing with the Camaro too.

When the Tesla sedan comes out, I was considering getting one for around the town stuff. The range of these vehicles is getting better, and I'd consider running one just to save money on gas.

Nissan has horrible commercials. They also have several where a kid is calling his parents lame for what they drive. Yeah, nice message. Not all parents can afford a new vehicle,
and I'm sure these commercials make the parents uncomfortable around their kids. Nice fail Nissan.
