Could have saved time and money by just hacking the back off an aveo wagon and put different body panels on.

Ok then its still dumb, when has anyone with a pickup needed anything like that to secure a fridge, dresser or anything tall???

Now to carry long crap across the roof I could see that being useful.

If its made, that will be one of the rarest items for it, as it will get removed lost or tossed over time if all its there is to steady something tall.

Well GM is lacking allot of tallent, in the 90s they dumbed allot of old school guys who knew style and design, and hired young 20s kid right out of school to make things more "hip".

Forgetting that they are not the ones who keep GM alive. You don't sacrfice your older loyal fan base to bring in a few young buyers. Let them eat rice if that's the style they like. Their loss.
