Still a GM family

went out today for the 2nd day looking at cars, to replace the one my husband is turning over to his sister.

so we went & looked a couple we looked at a couple days ago when we went out. & then I said lets look up at the place we have bought cars from before. (used lot with normal good deals on ok cars)

well we went & we walked around with a sales man following us (god I hate that lol) & we stopped at a bonniville kinda looked at it & husband thought it was to large. but it was in the price range.

kept looking & finally my husband went back over & wanted to hear the bonni run. so we took it out & MAN Those things are comfyyyyyyyyyyyyy & driving it was easy as well.

so we went to do the deal, they wouldnt come down much on what the price was. but We finally walked away with a 2000 bonni for 2800 with 180000 on the clock.

Why I miss the old days where folks would give you nice cars for nothing once it got to or over 75,000 miles as it was considered near junk then, but would last allot longer.

Now a nice car with less then 200,000 is just broke in and still worth something.

Good for sellers, bad for buyers.

Hard to get something nice for $50 to free anymore

You can make good coin on those parting them out, not one piece of the car someone doesn't want somewhere. I now of 4-5 places around the US that is all they do, buy em cheap and part them out on 3rd gen boards and make a good living only doing that. If one of those is close, you could flip it quick for a few hundred.

I could use a good left door.

Mine still has ripples in it from the lady PO who rubbed it on a drive thru pole

I had a 94 base model and even that one had a very nice ride under all conditions, plus those 3800's will easily go to 400,000 kilometers with proper servicing. There is a Bonneville forum with a great bunch of guys, just can't remember the address.

You got a great deal. We're all GM, too. My wife has a Malibu, and this is my winter beater. A '92 Grand Prix with 160k miles. Save the Pontiacs!
