It seems like Hyundai has worked hard to make a viable competitor in the 300-hp range, but I want to know that it is reliable.

yeah i also wonder about that, but usually hyundais are reliable, and theyre like one of the safest car brands out there correct?

Notice the weight. Sounds like one company actually sent its car to weight watchers.

I'm really impressed by this car. I'm not a fan of the looks, but so far on paper the performance sounds promising. I think it deserves a test drive. Especially with the sport package.

I noticed that, too...and I got to thinking about it.
I don't think this car will be able to handle the stresses and power that a Camaro can...and I think that's where a good portion of the weight is coming from on our baby...

I was going to say the same thing when I first read his reply this morning, then decided it might be better to keep quiet

I hate so say it because I only buy American, but I had a Sonota as a rental a couple years ago and was really impressed with it. I considered buying one but came to my senses and bought an F-150. Wasn't pretty during the $4/gallon summer but I enjoyed the truck much more and it was much more practical for me with all the moving I did and pulling/hauling.

Hmm..

Seems the car is getting LIGHTER as it nears introduction.

This is the NEW official weight.

Quote:
CURB WEIGHT

V6 manual / automatic
3,389 / 3,397 lbs.

2.0-liter manual / automatic
3,294 / 3,362 lbs.
http://www.hyundainews.com/Media_Kit...ifications.asp

The Edmunds article states

Quote:
"If the V6 is in place, the Genesis coupe weighs in at 3,549 pounds; if the turbocharged, intercooled, 212-hp 2.0-liter inline-4 is doing business under the hood, the car weighs 3,439 pounds"

I'm sorry but the the V6 is gonna get killed..... and if a tune comes out for the turbo it's gonna be a best....It might pose a threat to the SS, GT, and SRT8

Yes but just because you can, doesn't mean you should
