Life is short. I'm not going to waste mine getting worked up about turn signals and toilet seats.

Problem with turn signals is that people keep not using them, and it can get dangerous at times.

And people are going to keep not using them, regardless of how worked up we get about it.

Hmmm... I also sign letters when I mail them, even though I put a return address on the envelope. And emails, even though my address is clearly marked at the top of the email. Both of which are considered perfectly normal - and possibly even necessary for proper etiquette.

Is a forum really any different than email?

yes, because more often than not, people's email address is shipoopi@ghotmail.com.

Letter's are standard because people may lose the envelope. it's also proper practice.

forums are like texting...

Well, and there's also the fact that its such an ingrained habit for me at this point that I've been know to post facebook statuses ending in - X before realizing what I was doing.

Regardless of why I do it, I do it. Get over it.

But if I complain to the right people, the drivers ed teachers will be told to emphasize proper turn signal use and why it's important. Granted though, just sitting around and complaining about it won't do any good.
