For many maybe, but not for all. My roommate has a Corvette, and I will agree that it beats the Camaro in just about every aspect as far as performance goes. However I don't think I will ever buy a Corvette, I'm not comfortable in his 'Vette, I slide the chair all the way back (which gives me enough room for my legs) however when he gooses it my head hits the back of the roof, which is never fun. I think the Corvette is an absolute beast, able to outperform cars much more expensive than itself, but it just isn't for me.

Point out the hate in that thread, please. I read through the whole thread and didn't see any hatin' on the 'vette. There were a few that said why they don't put the 'vette on their gotta have list, but no negativity toward it.

I think some people's attitudes get a bit out of check when they do get a 'vette. Either that or they've always been chowderheads and owning a 'vette brings it out in them. Not anyone here that owns a 'vette though. It's a couple of local guys I'm thinking about. But 'vettes themselves are still cool. Not personally interested in getting one at the moment, though.

I'm new to the site and have always hated the Vette!
Overpriced with cheap interior, terrible seats, average looks and appeals to old men.
Porsche 911 Turbo or GT3 is where its at my friends.

Dont flame me...I've never ripped the Corvette on this site.

Don't understand the origianl idea of this thread. in the past 8 months I've notice many of the camaro owners on this site also have a vette in their garage of in their past. As for the vette being the older person's car or moving up, I've 60 and money wasn't a factor, I WANTED the Camaro! Also, I've gotten nothing but respect and attention from vette owner. We are all Chevy owners

I drove a C6 vette on a test drive, and the interior in the new Camaro is better quality, but its newer by 5 years. The C7 is gonna take from the Camaro in a lot of ways just improve a little. The cars have alwyas been VERY similar, sharing engines and other parts, and generally being comparable. My LS1 Camaro wasnt miuch different than the LS1 vette I test drove back when I bought the Camaro. The vette was tighter, smaller, and felt more like a super car, but the Camaro wasnt too far off.

Yep - and I love both! I think most people on this site agree.

Haters got to hate...pretty much all there is to it. My grandmother used to tell me a high fiber diet will help with that though.

But it's more that I always see it as you are paying way over on the value of the Vette. Not just performance but the total package. The only Vette I would considered owning would be a ZR1 but I don't think I'd even buy one of those. But I look at as I can buy a Mustang, build that beyond what the Vette is, including the Z06, and still be saving a lot of money and have nicer interior. So it's just from everyone's own perspective which this one is mine.
So you would rather have the more overpriced of all the Corvettes?.......

Some one said that a Vette was a MID-LIFE Crisis thing... I disagree... I've had one since I was 23. Hope that's not "mid-life." :(

I also had a Camaro as a daily drive then as well... and see BOTH as legends. The Vette is higher end... it's just that simple, an the C7 is gonna take that even further. This is the reason why U are seeing the Camaro being placed more up-market than it was in the past.

Then:

and now: (see Sig)

Brothers forever.. 'cept this time they got BIG Momma V to look out for them

Hah! One thing for sure is that the 2011 Camaro 2SS/RS and the 2001 Vette I own both get a lot of attention from the smarter people in the world and the almost always a challenge from Mustangs. The 2500HD Silverado gets it from Dodges and especially the Special edition Ford's.

They all live here as happy as a clam, no fighting! The truck wants to know why it sleeps outside, but thats the way it is!

When I was doing my paperwork at the dealership after I won my car, I was perusing the show room floor. While I was checking out an orange 2SS, one of the salesman asked me if I would trade my 2LT in for the 2SS. I politely said no, but pointed to the blue ZR1 in the corner and told him I'd trade my custom for that! Corvettes are cool, but so are Camaro's!
