2011 Dodge Challenger Pricing.

Dodge Challenger SE: $24,670
Dodge Challenger SE (with “Rallye” package): $26,670
Dodge Challenger R/T: $29,670
Dodge Challenger R/T (with “Plus” package): $31,170
Dodge Challenger R/T (with “Classic” package): $32,970
(All prices exclude $825 destination charge.)

Dodge Challenger SRT8 392: $42,555
(Price excludes $825 destination charge and any applicable gas guzzler taxes.)

Looks like a decent increase in price for the SE, but a decrease for the R/T (30,495) and the SRT8.

Assuming the 392 is also hit with the GG tax, basically you're looking at what, about $46,500 or so to get into a 392?

All SRTs will have the 392, the inagural adition will of course be higher. Even with a 1200 GG tax and (if it happens) and 825 dest fee, that is still only 44680 anyways.

Wow the SRT is speeeensive.

Granted I've thrown my powertrain warranty out the window but gees.

the SRT is just a few grand less than what my car cost as it is now...

Actually once you add taxes and and fees... it will be pretty damn near close...

And for $5,000 more you could get a GT500 with 550hp, far better handling, and all the same toys if not more and a much higher end interior design. I would be on board with the challenger if they would get on board with the power.

You are looking at 49495 for a base GT500 and there are lots of options to be added, it tops out at 57068, then an estimated 44680 for the SRT8. Handling is not really known yet for the SRTs improved suspension, but I have a feeling it should be pretty close to the base GT500 and you should have no issues getting the extra power to match the GT500 for that 5k difference. It is right between a 2SS and GT500 in power and price, seems correct to me.

Challenger SRT price

I have a Limited Edition Challenger on the way 12-4-2010 in White.
Still dont know final price but I am getting it at invoice..
I could get a low number dash plaque.. I dont know of anyone else with a 12-4 delivery.
May have to loose the stripes.. excited about the 392 badges on the fenders.
Will be interesting to see what the extra torque does.
I have also owned and SS Camaro and it was a nice car too.

Doug, do you know if it's going to get hit with the Gas Guzzler tax or not?

Not true at all. My buddy just traded his 2010 in on a 2011 Gt500. Go on ford.com and build one for yourself. To build it to compare to an SRT-8, the only option you need to add is nav. The GT500 doesn't need the other options added to have what the SRT-8 has. That was my point. Of course you can add options to the the GT500 like the SVT package that will increase the price ,but then again your adding more options that the SRT-8 doesn't have. If you build the two as equal as possible there is only about $5,300 in difference which makes the GT500 a much better deal. Plus they hold they're value much better than an SRT-8.

Like I said before I love the looks of the challenger but the performance just isn't there yet for the money you spend. If your talking dollars VS performance then the Camaro is still the best overall buy.

That and you know the dealers will try to mark them up. Plus you can get the GT500 for quite a bit under sticker these days.

My buddy just found that out. Although that will probably hurt the resale value down the road. If we were comparing 2010 SRT-8 challengers instead of the 2011 to the GT500, then I think they might be the better buy. I've seen some really good deals on them in the past two months.

You realize you are judging the Challenger SRT8 that has never been tested, i am guessing it will fall right in between the GT500 and SS, as does it's price, and as does it's power. The only FAIR comparison is MSRP to MSRP. Here 2011 GT500s have $10000 while you can get the SRT below sticker. that is not fair to the GT500 because womeone will be selling it for sticker or less, same is true of the SRT8. FOr the sticker to sticker, the SRT8 is priced right where it should be, plain and simple.

Yeah, but the Challenger is SO much better looking IMO.

I've always agreed with that in every post I made. If the challenger had more performance I probably wouldn't be on the forum right now because I would own it instead of my camaro. Who knows if the challenger would somehow end of beating the z/28 when they come out then I would reconsider buying a Z/28.
I don't believe there is anyway in hell that's going to happen so I don't think I'll have to worry.

And to stew, comparing base MSRP to me never makes sense. It's very rare to ever see a car on the lot that way. I want to know what I'm really paying in the real world ,and unless the laws of physics changed ,I don't need to see the real numbers to see who would come out on top in the 2011 Gt500 VS 2011 STR-8 world. Unless Dodge is lying about the rated HP numbers. They need over 540HP to even get close to the GT500 for what they have in weight with the SRT-8 challenger. I hope your right. I wish the challenger would spank them all. Then I would get one.
