This is truly a sad story....:(
A guy in my NY5THGEN Camaro Club has an RJT 2010 Camaro...  It was garaged, in the Bronx, NY, until he ended up having to park it on the street because the fees got too high for the garage rental...  Only a week after he had it parked in front of his house, an SUV 'took out' a bunch of cars on his block, including his beloved Camaro, while he was sound asleep at 2am...  This was in the beginning of August...the reason I remember it was the beginning of August is because NY5THGEN was having our first dealer sponsored car show on August 8th, and he couldn't make it becuase his car was wrecked... The story made the news because of all the cars that were hit...his was rear-ended so badly that it buckled the rear fenders and trunk, as well as decimating his rear bumper... He FINALLY got his car back early last week and proudly posted that his RJT was looking as good as new, and we all rejoiced in the fact that his car was finally fixed and looked great...   We were excited for him because he had not gone to any car shows with us all summer and fall...:( We had a big show this past Sunday called The Monster Mash, in honor of Halloween and we were so excited that he would get to join us...  Wellllllllllllllll, on Friday he posted on facebook that he was driving his 'good as new', beautiful RJT, and someone ran a stop sign or red light, (can't remember, I'm so sad for him) and 'took out' his car... The guy that hit him fled the scene and he was unable to chase after him because his wheel would have fallen off...  Sooooo, now he wants to get rid of the car, he is so distraught and worried that his car is jinxed...  We all feel so bad for him...when I read his post, I just about cried, it was so sad... I know Tessa definitely must know how he feels, having been the victim of being rear-ended in her RJT twice.... I also think we can all feel sorry for him, because we can only imagine how bad we would feel if this happened to any of us.....

I know I could not give up my Cherry baby as she is part of my heart and soul and it would be teh death of me -- but I do think she is jinxed.... I ghope if your friend gives up his he gets a different color -- I think it's the red! My mom's '69 was red and always got hit too!! This makes me very It also makes me put into persepctive things that I have been upset about the past week -- there are things far worsem like your friend could ahve bene seriously injured or killed in these horrible accidents!! I hope he is ok and I hope he does what is best for him - I can't imagine giving up my baby but the constant fear of being hit and the stress of repairs and being without the car is bad too! :( |
